Leisure activities- after school and weekend activities
Activity context
These digital resources are designed for languages teachers to use with Interactive Whiteboards (IWB). This
activity has been designed to consolidate the language in the topic area of leisure activities after school and
on the weekend.
PLESE NOTE: This activity can be used in conjunction with 'Time and Days' and 'Daily Routine' IWB
activities.

Activity
Leisure activities - introduction page
Students click on a picture to start the activity.
For this activity students need to have learnt the vocabulary for
leisure activities.
The Notebook file can be edited to include many vocabulary
items and images.

Leisure activities
Students use the pen tool or text tool on IWB to write what their
answers as to what the activities are in Indonesian. After
completing the activity they can drag the covers to the answers
away from under each image to see if they are correct.
For this activity students need to have learnt the vocabulary for
leisure activities.
The Notebook file can be edited to include many vocabulary
items and images.

Students click on a tile to reveal a word or image. They then
click on another tile to see if they find the matching word or
image. As students find a match the two matching tiles
disappear. This could be completed using a timer.

vocabulary items and images.

Leisure activities - sequencing words
To consolidate vocabulary related to sequencing words e.g.
kemudian, sebelum, setalah.
Students read the English and Indonesian vocabulary then drag
the appropriate Indonesian word into the position to the left of its
English equivalent. Teachers can time the students completing
this activity.
For this activity students need to have learnt the vocabulary for
sequencing words.
The Notebook file can be edited to include up to eight
vocabulary items and translations.

Leisure activities and sequencing words
Students read the information and re-arrange the pictures
above by dragging and dropping them into the correct order as
determined by the text underneath. Hit 'check' to see if correct.
Students may do this in their books or on their laptops and
check together via the IWB.
For this activity students need to have learnt the vocabulary for
leisure activities.

Leisure activities - changing verbs
To consolidate grammar rules about changing verbs in
Indonesian.
Students use the pen tool or text tool on IWB to write their
answers in the raw form of the verb in Indonesian. After
completing the activity they drag the covers to the answers
away from beside each of their own answers to see if they are
correct.
For this activity students need to have learnt the grammar rules
for changing verbs.
The Notebook file can be edited to include many verbs.
Leisure activities
Students match the appropriate verb to each of the images by
dragging the verb into the space nearest to the correct image.
For this activity students need to have learnt the verbs for
leisure activities.

Leisure activities - places whereactivities occur
Students click on the moving image to pause it on a randomly
selected picture. They then click on the correct word below
matching the picture. Click on the image to start it moving again.
For this activity students need to have learnt the vocabulary for
places where activities occur.

Leisure activities - places where activities occur
Students click on the start button for the timer to begin moving
across the top of the screen. They look at the English clue on
the left and hit the appropriate letters in correct order to spell out
the Indonesian translation. Click on 'next' to move on to the next
word.
For this activity students need to have learnt the vocabulary for
places where activities occur.
The Notebook file can be edited to include eight vocabulary
items.
Leisure activities - similar to hangman
Students click on letters to try and work out what the Indonesian
word is. Students may click on 'clue' for an English clue if
needed. Could be played with whole class input like hangman,
or individually.
For this activity students need to have learnt the vocabulary for
leisure activities.

Leisure activities - survey
To consolidate vocabulary and structures associated with
leisure activities after school.
Students ask questions and survey other students to fill in a
copy of the table in the books or laptops.
For this activity students need to have learnt the vocabulary and
structures for days and leisure activities.
The Notebook file can be edited to include as many vocabulary
items as desired.
