A PROPOSAL ON Q-Ice Project: The Second Wave (Quran & Ice-cream Project) DATE: 27th September -29th November 2015 DAY: Sunday TIME : 8.00am – 1.30pm VENUE: PPR Kg Baru Air Panas, Gombak Main Audi Engineering,IIUM THEME: “Young Caliph Generation” ORGANIZED BY: Jamiyyatu Khadamatil Quran Club (JKQ Club) University Centre for Community Engagement (BUDI) International Islamic University Malaysia IN COLLABORATION WITH : Persatuan Penduduk PPR Kg Baru Air Panas 1.0 SUMMARY OF THE Q-ICE PROJECT: FIRST WAVE The Q-Ice Project: First Wave that was held on 12th, 19th and 26th April 2015 by Jamiyyatu Khadamatil Quran (JKQ) has successfully ended. Basically, The Q-Ice Project is planned to be conducted for five years continuously and First Wave as starting base of the program. The maximum targeted participant that was expected to join this First Wave is 60 people, but the total participants joined were 84 people which extremely exceeded the limit. Here, it can be concluded that the demand from the community regarding this program was high. The First Wave brought the theme of “Syamil Al-Quran” means the comprehensiveness of Al-Quran in order to show to the Muslim community the importance of the Quran. Besides that, the project was conducted on Sunday every week consecutively to fill up the free time of children in the weekend. So, as the trick to attract the children to come and join program, we offered ice-creams at the end of the program as a reward for them for spending their time with Al-Quran. Overall, The Q-Ice Project: First Wave was beyond the club expectation due to the supports from all party and parents that were asked to continue this program in future. 2.0 INTRODUCTION The Prophet said, “The best of you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it” (Sahih al-Bukhari) This hadith really encourages and inspires all Muslims as there are two good deeds that bring Muslim to be the best which are learn Al-Qur’an and teach Al-Qur’an. As Jamiyyatu Khadamatil Quran (JKQ) Club is one of the Qur’anic based club under UCCE-BUDI, our aim is to contribute to the ummah with da’wah of Al-Quran and to serve the ummah in building Quranic generation. Thus, in parallel with this fundamental value of Islamic creed, JKQ Club will continuously inculcate the spirit of love towards the Quran. For this time, JKQ Club would like to take an initiative to propose Q-Ice Project as our mega project which the focus is to bring the Quran to our life practically. This project will involve children from PPR Kg. Baru Air Panas. 3.0 BACKGROUND OF PROGRAMME This is The Q-ice Project: Second Wave which continuous program of The Q-Ice Project: First Wave. In other word, this is the second series of The Q-Ice Project. The project is planned to be completed with ten series in total. This project is basically to teach Al-Quran to the children in PPR Kg. Baru Air Panas. Based on the survey that had been carried out before, total Muslim in this PPR was around nine thousand populations. Most of the Muslim families were unable to send their children to the Tilawah class due to the lack of time and financial problem. So, as an initiative to these families, we would like to help the community by preparing Quranic classes for their children. In parallel with the year-end holidays, we can use the free time to teach them Quran. All the participants will be teached based on their level, from illiterate until they will be able to read Quran and the teaching will be continue until they slowly can memorize Quran. This program will emphasize on Quranic recitation so that the children can learn more about Al-Quran in details. Besides, this programme is organized to enhance the knowledge and also strengthen the basic understanding about Islam to the participants including ibadah, lifestyle and attitude in order to build the spirit of love the Qur’an and preserve the young generation from the wrongdoings and deviated from the right path. Apart from that, this project will be focusing on Al-Quran, the truth about it, its miracle and the implementation of the content in daily life. Apart from that, this program is meant to polish the mentors with the skills of communicating. All mentees will be fostered with some considerable way of how to speak in front of the public, team bonding and the creativity of thinking. Besides that, the mentees will be nurtured in knowledge of Quran Al Kareem, Tajwid, Fardhu Ain and Sirah. So, at the end of it, we hope that this particular program will leave great impact to the community and the club and therefore; to the UCCE-BUDI itself, insyaAllah, Ameenya Rabbal ‘Alamin. 4.0 OBJECTIVES 4.1 To teach and guide the mentees on how to recite Al-Quran in an easy way. 4.2 To make the process of learning and reciting the Quran and interesting one. 4.3 To produce a good behavior of person trough learning Al-Quran. 4.4 To educate mentees on the importance of Al-Quran in life. 5.0 LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of this program:5.1 Mentees will be interested to recite and learn about Quran. 5.2 Mentees will be able to read and recite Quran in a better way. 5.3 Mentees will be able to practice the knowledge from the al-Quran. 5.4 Mentees will have ability to memorize Quranic verses and applying the tajwid. 6.0 ORGANIZER JKQ Club of IIUM 7.0 TARGET GROUP (First 9 SESSIONS) Mentor: IIUM undergraduates x 30 Mentees: PPR Kg Baru Air Panas x 80 (Age 4-10 years) (YOUNG CALIPH CAMP) Mentor: IIUM undergraduates x 30 Mentees: PPR Kg Baru Air Panas x 40 (Age 4-10 years) 8.0 DATE AND TIME (First 9 SESSIONS) - 27 September – 22 December 2015 - 8.30 am – 1.30 pm every Sunday VENUE : Surau At-Taqwa, PPR Kg Baru Air Panas (YOUNG CALIPH CAMP) - 27, 28 and 29 November 2015(3days 2nights) - 9.00 am (Friday) – 2.00pm (Sunday) VENUE : Main Audi Engineering, IIUM 9.0 THEME “Young Caliph Generation” 10.0 PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS/ NATURE OF PROGRAMME MODULE DETAILS Academy Style - The participant will be divided into groups based on their level. - Facilitators will evaluate them according to the scheme of evaluation form provided. - Those who gain the highest marks will get prize (as a motivation for them). - The objective is to boost their spirit of competing to learn Al-Quran.
