PENGEMBANGAN ASSESSMENT OF PRACTICAL SKILLS IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN LITERASI SAINS MAHASISWA PRODI PENDIDIKAN IPA KELAS BILINGUAL Abstrak Oleh: Insih Wilujeng Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan assessment of practical skill in science and technology bagi mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan IPA Kelas Bilingual.; mengetahui Peningkatan literasi sains dan keterampilan praktik mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan IPA kelas bilingual diukur dari assessment of practical skills in science and technology hasil pengembangan. Metode penelitian adalah Research and Development yang dikenal dengan model 4-D (Four-D Models). Fase Define (D-1) meliputi: analisis teori; analisis tugas; dan analisis konsep. Fase Design (D-2) meliputi: seleksi media; seleksi format; dan rancangan awal. Fase Develop (D-3) meliputi penilaian ahli dan pengujian pengembangan. Fase Dessiminate (D-4) meliputi: penerapan dalam perkuliahan sebenarnya kemudian diobservasi segala variabel yang menjadi fokus/tujuan pengembangan. Hasil penelitian produk berupa assesment of practical skills in science and technology yang memiliki kharakteristik antara lain: soal mengukur 15 indikator meliputi 6 indikator untuk basic conceps in chemistry, 5 indikator untuk basic conceps in physics dan 4 indikator untuk basic conceps in life science. Dari keseluruhan indikator terdapat 35% soal yang mengukur procedural and manipulative skills, 15% soal mengukur drawing skills, 35% sol mengukur observational skill dan 15% soal mengukur reporting and interpretative skill (R, I). Hasil ujicoba diperoleh tingkat literasi sains (penguasaan konsep sains) mengalamai peningkatan sedang, ditunjukkan dengan nilai N-gain rerata sebesar 0,68. Sebanyak 30% mahasiswa tuntas untuk procedural and manipulative skills, 15% mahasiswa tuntas untuk drawing skills drawing skills, 43% mahasiswa tuntas untuk observational skills, dan 12% untuk reporting and interpretative skill Kata-kata kunci: pengembangan, assessment of practical skill in science and technology, literasi sains DEVELOPMENT OF ASSESSMENT OF PRACTICAL SKILLS IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ SCIENTIFIC LITERACY OF SCIENCE EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM OF BILINGUAL CLASS By: Insih Wilujeng ABSTRACT This study aims at developing assessment of practical skills in science and technology for the students of Science Education Study Program of Bilingual Class; determining the improvement of scientific literacy and practical skills of the students of Science Education Study Program of Bilingual class measured from the assessment of practical skills in science and technology of the development results. The research method was the Research and Development known as the Four-D models. Define phase (D-1) included analysis of theory, task analysis, and concept analysis. Design phase (D-2) included selection of media, selection of format, and preliminary design. Develop phase included expert assessment, and development testing. Disseminate phase (D-4) included application in real lectures and then observations of all variables which are the focus/ purpose of the development. The research results are in the form of assessment of practical skills in science and technology having characteristics which include items measuring 15 indicators covering 6 basic indicators for basic concepts in chemistry, 5 indicators for basic concepts in physics, and 4 indicators for basic concepts in life science. From all of the indicators, there are 35% of items measuring procedural and manipulative skills, 15% of items measuring drawing skills, 35% of items measuring observational skills, and 15% of items measuring reporting and interpretative skills (R,I). The test results find that the scientific literacy level (scientific concept mastery) experiences a modest increase which is indicated by N-gain average of 0.68. There are 30% of students completing both procedural and manipulative skills, 15% of students completing drawing skills, 43% of students completing observational skills, and 12% of students completing reporting and interpretative skills.
