Traffic Update:
Please adhere to these traffic regulations to ensure a safe and organized drop-off and pick-up experience:




Double parking is not allowed at any time on Roland Avenue.
Parking on Roland Avenue in front of school is prohibited during the hours indicated on the traffic signs. Drivers are not
permitted to park on Roland Avenue in front of school and leave their car unattended to walk students up to the school
doors.
Drivers dropping students off on Roland Avenue are expected to pull their vehicle as far north on Roland Avenue as possible
to allow others to pull close behind thus utilizing all available curb space.
Drop off should take no longer than 30 seconds. Please make sure your child or children exit the car on the right hand curb
side.
To avoid the most congested time of morning drop-off, consider sending your child to our free breakfast program.
Supervised breakfast is available starting at 7:30 am every morning in the cafeteria.
See below our parking lot policy
Parking Lot Policy:
This is to inform all staff, parents, and visitors that the Roland Park Elementary/Middle School parking lot is reserved for staff
members. All staff members must have a valid parking permit in order to enter the driveway and park in the rear lot. All visitors are
required to park on the street or in the local neighborhood. Parents are not permitted to use the school parking lot to drop students
off in the morning or pick up at the end of the day. Our school driveway and parking lot will be monitored daily during morning
drop-off and afternoon pick-up hours by school administration and school police. Thank you in advance for your understanding and
cooperation regarding this matter.
Fourth Quarter Progress Reports:
Fourth quarter progress reports will be distributed on Thursday, May 15 th. Please continue to monitor your child’s homework daily
and contact your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns. Please also be mindful to send your child to school daily and on
time. Students who are regularly absent or late to school have difficulty making adequate academic progress.
5 Year Strategic Planning:
Thanks again to all who signed up to participate on a committee dedicated to creating the action plans associated with meeting the
goals of our 5 Year Plan. If you are still interested in joining a committee please contact me ASAP. Committees will be holding their

Middle School Schedule Changes:
Please join me at the next PTA meeting on Thursday, May 22nd at 7:00 pm to hear about the exciting changes being made to our
middle school schedule. We have been working as a leadership team to create a schedule that will allow all academic programs to
improve through creating a schedule that allows for common grade level planning. The new schedule will also allow us to integrate
our classes across all academic programs during the SPAR class period to unify our students into grade level teams as opposed to
two separate teams within the same grade level. All students will continue to attend their core academic classes (Language Arts,
Math, Science, and Social Studies) with their homeroom cohort, which is decided by their academic program placement. Please join
me at the meeting for more detailed information.
