Vocabulary Assignments: 3rd Nine Weeks
Assignments need to be complete and written neatly in order to be given full credit. Be sure
that your name, date, and name of assignment choice are written on each activity when
complete!
 Monday (REQUIRED): Write each word in a complete sentence.
 Tuesday – Thursday: Complete one activity each night from below.
Game Time:
Make a game out of at least 7
vocabulary words.
Fill in the blank:
Write a sentence for at least 7
vocabulary words, but leave
out the vocabulary words. List
all the words on the page. Ask
a family member to add the
correct vocabulary word to
each sentence.
Part of Speech
Write at least 7 of your words
in sentences (different
sentences than Monday!).
Then identify the subjects,
nouns, and verbs in your
sentences. Bonus: Identify
any prepositions, infinitives, or
conjunctions used.
Picture This:
Draw & color pictures
that represent the
meaning of the
vocabulary words.
Quiz Maker:
Create a quiz using your
vocabulary words. You may
do fill-in-the-blank or multiple
choice. Be sure to include a
word bank for fill-in-the-blank!
The News:
Cut pictures or words
from old magazines or
newspapers that
represent the meaning of
the vocabulary words.
Writing:
Write a TV ad for a product or
write a newspaper article that
uses at least 7 of your
vocabulary words.
Dictionary Search:
Find each word in the
dictionary (can also be done
with an online dictionary).
Copy the definition for each
one.
Flash Cards!
Create flash cards for your
vocab words: word on the
front, definition on the back.
Study them.
(Ex: matching game, crossword puzzle,
bingo, charades, etc). Bring the game to
class or write brief description of the
game and have your parents sign the
paper.
Play your game later in the
week for a 2nd vocabulary
activity. Have a parent sign
that you played (on Conduct
Sheet or separate paper)
