Activity Report
2014-2015
So far during the 2014-2015 year of the Maryland Society, I attended and participated in the
following events:

















April 12th-Participated in the Board of Managers Meeting and installed as President at the Annual
Meetings of the Maryland Society, Westminster Best Western in Westminster, Maryland. Also
attended and laid a wreath at the Westminster Chapters’ memorial service.
April 13th-Laid a wreath at the Thomas Jefferson memorial for his Annual Remembrance event.
April 29th-Attended and brought greetings at a dinner meeting of the Christian Ardinger Chapter at
Nicks Airport Inn, Hagerstown, Maryland.
May 2nd-Attended the Retired Senior Leaders Briefing of the Maryland National Guard at the
Warfield Air National Guard Base in White Marsh, Maryland and presented an award to Major
General James Adkins on behalf of the Maryland Society.
May 4th-Attended and installed the officers at the Col. Nicholas Ruxton Moore Chapter meeting at
Edenwald in Towson, Maryland.
May 10th- Attended and brought greetings to the John Eager Howard Chapter at the Loch Raven
Branch of the Baltimore County Libraries in Towson, Maryland.
May 17th- Attended and chaired a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Maryland Society at
the Eldersburg branch of the Carroll County Public Libraries.
May 27th-Chaired a meeting of the MDSSAR Patriots Ball Committee via conference call. The
meeting was held to discuss the future of the event and develop recommendations for the Board of
Managers meeting scheduled for May 31st.
May 30th-Attended a meeting of the Henry Hollingsworth Chapter and placed a wreath at the grave
of Col. Henry Hollingsworth at the Elkton Cemetery in Elkton, Maryland.
June 1st-Attended John Eager Howard Memorial ceremony at St Paul’s Cemetery in Baltimore,
Maryland.
June 5th-Attended Smallwood chapter meeting and new officer installations at Alfio’s in Chevy
Chase, MD
June 12th-Attended Sgt Lawrence Everhart chapter flag day awards and ceremony-American Legion
in Frederick, MD
June 14th-Attended John Smoot chapter meeting at the Nabb Research Center in Salisbury, MD
June 21st-Attended Little Meadows chapter meeting at Deep Creek Lake, MD
July 20-23- Attended NSSAR Congress in Greenville, SC
August 2nd-Attended the Aquila Hall and Col. Nicholas Ruxton Moore joint summer picnic and
meeting at the home of president Dave Hoover.
August 8th- Attended Atlantic Middle States Conference in Hunt Valley, MD
























August 16th-Represented SAR at CAR packet stuffing meeting at Flag House and Star Spangled
Banner Museum in Baltimore, MD
August 25th-Attended patriot’s ball committee meeting at Hilton Garden Inn in White Marsh, MD
September 4th-Attended Westminster chapter meeting in Union Bridge, MD
September 7th-Attended Sgt Lawrence Everhart chapter grave marking ceremony in Graceham, MD
September 13th-Attended Little Meadows chapter meeting in Deep Creek Lake, MD
September 16th-Attended DAR meeting at Carrolton Manor chapter of the DAR
September 25-28-Attended Fall Leadership meeting of NSSAR in Louisville, KY
October 2nd-Attended Sgt Lawrence Everhart chapter annual dinner meeting and installation of new
members in Frederick MD
