INAMDAR STATE LEVEL MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2015 RULES AND REGULATIONS Venue and Date:- 3rd and 4th Jan 2015 at: A.K. Khan New Law Academy, 2390, K B Hidayatullah Road, Azam Campus, Pune- 400 001. The competition shall be in the English language. Eligibility The competition is open for students who are studying LLB (3 years) or B.A L.L.B (5 years) five year course during the current academic year . Team Composition a. Each team should consist of 3 members. b. There shall be 2 speakers and 1 researcher designated for each team. c. Each team will be provided a team code during orientation. Teams should not disclose the identity of their institution; such disclosure shall invite penalties including disqualification. Registration Commencement of Online Registration 8th December 2014 Last date for Online Registration and soft copies of Reg. Form / Approval letter by 20th December 2014 Last Date for Submission of Memorials:- Soft Copy and one Hard copy and Hard Copy of Registration Form and Approval Letter by 26th December,2014 Submission of Memorials (Four Hard Copies):- During Orientation - 3rd January 2015 Rounds There will be two preliminary rounds of arguments, a semi-final on 3rd Jan, 2015 and the final round shall be held on 4th January,2015. Subject to the registration recived. Preliminary Round. Preliminary rounds will be held on 3rd Jan 2015 (Saturday), There will be an Orientation Program for all the participants on 3rd January 2015 (Saturday) followed by a draw of lots & exchange of memorials at 7.30 a.m. Team codes shall be allotted during the orientation program. The dress code shall be advocate’s attire during the competition rounds Finals will be held on 4th Jan 2015 (Sunday) at 10.00 a.m. Researchers Test: Researchers test will be conducted only for researchers after orientation and before preliminary rounds. Researchers tests marks will be added to the scores of the preliminary rounds. Results (Announcement) Results will be announced within 30 minutes after the completion of the preliminary/ semifinal rounds. The Final result and the winners of the various categories will be announced only during the valediction / prize distribution ceremony. Memorials a. Each team must prepare memorials for both parties to the dispute (Petitioners and Respondent). b. The memorials have to be submitted on typed A 4 size paper printed on one side and must contain: • The table of contents.• The index of authorities• The statement of jurisdiction• The statement of facts • The statement of issues • The arguments advanced • The prayer c. The font size should be 12 (doubles space) and for footnotes it should be 10 (single space) & double space between two foot notes. d. The memorials should be spiral / staple bound or stitched. Any other form of binding shall not be accepted. Petitioner: Light Blue Color; Respondent: Light Red Color. Identity of the institution shall not be revealed anywhere in the memorial. Preliminary Round Each team will get a total of 30 minutes to present their case. This time will include rebuttal and sur-rebuttal time. The division of time is at the discretion of the team members. Semifinal & Final Each team will get 45 minutes to present their case that will include rebuttal and sur-rebuttal time. The division of time is at the discretion of the team. Registered students pursuing L.L.B (3 years) or B.A.L.L.B (5 years) law course are eligible to participate. Maximum word limit – 2000 words. The language should be English only. The essay should be the original work of the student. The Decision of the Jury shall be final & binding on all the participants. Rules for Debate Competition. Registered students pursuing L.L.B (3 years) or B.A.L.L.B (5 years) law course are eligible to participate. Each team shall comprise of two students. One speaking FOR the motion and the other AGAINST the motion.. In the questioning period, the questioner may ask any fair, clear question that has a direct bearing on the debate. Each speaker is questioned as soon as he concludes his constructive speech. The speaker must answer the questions without consulting his colleagues. The Decisions made by the judges are final. Rules for Law Quiz Competition. Registered students pursuing L.L.B (3 years) or B.A.L.L.B (5 years) law course are eligible to participate. The topics for law Quiz are I.P.C , Constitution And Political Science. The team should comprise of three students. There will be the following Rounds; 1. Round 1: The First Round will be a written test and qualifying round. 2. Round 2: The second round 1: Equal Question Round will have the following rounds. Every team will be asked equal number of question. 2: Rapid fire. 3:Buzzer Round. Any Further queries or explanation to a particular question shall be answered but the experts during the competition.
