Local Plan Review.
Having had the latest ‘Quarter-to-six Quadrant “VISION” http://qtsq.org.uk/ Development and Planning
update shoved through the letter box a few days ago, I am dutifully writing, as urged by our Local
District Councillor, Francis Burkitt, to write to you before 5pm today to lodge my objection to
Cambridge City Council’s plans. I have no vote in the City and none in the University and pay
council tax to maintain a status quo that we have been stuck with since 1994, which obscures any
sensible government in this country and in ‘The British System’(if it exists). I shall therefore
reserve most of my comment for South Cambs. who apparently represent me, since their due
objection date is September 28th , even though they did not exist as a planning authority until 1973
and all plans changed in 1972: hence the lethal A14.
The COUNTY COUNCIL are supposed to have organised planning in lieu of having no
COUNTY BOROUGH, which would have been the City Council and Cambridge Universityi. If
County Boroughs can exist in Wales and we now have a Supreme Court, why not here?

Francis Burkitt might be a local with dynastic connections to Cambridge University and to the

he is being disingenuous if he thinks Coton and half the necklace villages (can St.Etheldreda have
half a necklace?) can remain in South Cambs. which is run from a business park at Cambourne,

free road to connect to Oxford post 1985. (Is this guy really ‘independent’?

Cambridge is in complete denial of reality in creating the Biomedical Metropolis mushrooming
next to the M11 in full view of the Gogs whilst Anglia Ruskin University seems to think it is on a
par with Cambridge University, which is the institution that was being protected for cultural
reasons. Elizabeth I created a civil corporation.

If the University is a business and it is capitalising on planning permissions, it presumes
permissions to have been given by the Queen in Council. It should be accountable for having a
system, and there is none. This is irresponsible to say the least since the colleges are ‘charities’
and the University is largely paid for by the State.
I object in the strongest possible terms to anymore public money being wasted on this collusion of
drivel that purports to be planning. I therefore lodge my complaint and I will send a copy to my
representatives and see what to do from here. The economy is a mess and the country/world is in a
mess. Why should you get paid when you contributed to it?
