Kaul (Kaithal) 2 Western zone Sirsa, Fatehbad, Hisar, Bhiwani, Narnaul, Mahendergarh, Rewari, Parts of Jind, Rohtak , Jhajjar, Gurgaon and Mewat. Hisar Part I: Weather Significant Past Weather in different agroclimatic zones Weather Forecast for different agro-climatic zones For the period 30/03/2012 to 02/04/2012. valid until 0830 hrs of 06/04/2012 (Area Covered in 50 Km radius around the station) Eastern zone Weather remained mainly dry during the period. Weather will be mainly dry during the period. Slight Chief amounts of rainfall in cms: Nil. fall in day temperature in next 24 hours and increase Mean maximum temperature was around 330 C gradually thereafter. which was 1-2 deg. C above normal. Mean minimum temperature was around 18 deg. C Outlook for subsequent two days : Mainly dry which was also 1-2 deg. C above normal. The weather likely. average morning and afternoon relative humidity were 58 and 35 percent respectively. The average wind speed during the period was 04 km/hr. Western zone Weather remained mainly dry during the period. Weather will be mainly dry during the period. Part II: Agroclimatic Zonewise Agricultural/Agro-meteorological Advisories Eastern zone Wheat Fodder Sugarcane Animal husbandry For crop sown after 5 December, need based irrigation can be given. Care should be taken not to irrigate the crop on windy/stormy day. Sow early summer and multicut fodder during this month to meet fodder scarcity during summer lean period. Coserve surplus Barseem as hay and oats as silage for cheap milk production during lean period. Irrigate the crop at 7-12 days interval for better growth of the crop. Apply 65 kg urea to ratoon crop and give irrigation. Summer is approaching. So take adequate steps to protect the animals from summer heat and stress. Keep the animal and poultry sheds clean and dry. Make sure that all the animals are vaccinated against FMD. Increase protein level in the concentrate by increasing oilseed cakes by 5-7 per cent. Do not feed excess wheat/cereal to dairy animals. This can be fatal. It is best time to replace the stock. Reduce the thickness of litter and change the wet litter. Provide the cool and fresh water to birds. Provide sufficient water to avoid excess movement of birds. Proper vaccination schedule must be followed. White wash the poultry shed from outside especially roof. This will help to reflect the sun rays. Vegetables & Fruits Irrigate the tomato crop once a week to encourage maximum fruit setting and development of fruits. Take care of Kharif onion nursery sown in March and irrigate regularly after 5-7 days interval. Transplant seedlings of chilli in the afternoon keeping ridges at 75 cm and plants at 60 cm distance. During this month there is a marked change in weather. The temperature rises rapidly and humidity gets low. The growers are advised to adopt the measures to save their valuable fruit trees from drought, windstorm and sun injury. Whitewash the trunk, provide shelter to young trees and give frequent irrigation. Apply second dose of inorganic fertilizers to the fruit trees of citrus, pear and grapes. Oil Seeds The crop is ready to harvest when the pods turn yellow. Timely sown raya and taramira should be harvested during this week and owing to grain shattering in raya care should be taken to harvest it at the proper time. Sowing of summer moong (SML-668) and summer mash (Sathi mash, i.e. Mash 1008 or Mash-414 or Mash-218) may be started from middle of March onward. Use 15 kg seed rate per acre for summer moong and 20 kg for summer mash.
