Ag in a Bag – EEC

Grab and go agriculture activities that can be sued by camp staff such as 4-H Teen Leaders and/or 4-H leaders during 4Hcamps and 4-H club meetings. Examples of activities: Circles of Earth Bracelets, Ag Jeopardy, Wool balls, It Better Be
Butter and Caramelita Hunt
Archery- Behind Marion Cottage or barn if bad weather
Craig Body, Doddridge County, WV
Archery is part of the 4-H Shooting Sports program. Participants will learn more about this program and have the
opportunity to shoot a bow and arrow.
Basketball- Basketball Court or the closest shelter if weather is bad

Basketball: enjoy a variety of basketball activities/games: knock-out, around the world, and/or half court 3 on 3. You
chose what to play or just shoot around.

Learn the basics of making beautiful beaded jewelry a great class for camp.
Boo Boo Bear & Community Service projects- Flameway Center

Obtain a flyer with suggested community service ideas, make a “BOO BOO Bear that is given to small children in the
hospital. They are often donated to The Ronald McDonald House to give to children. Obtain directions for making heart
pillows that can be donated to hospitals to give to patients that have had heart surgery. Holding the pillow against the
chest helps to alleviate pain caused from coughing after surgery. You will also get directions for making Homeless Mats
using plastic bags and crocheting them into a large rug that is used to sleep on.
Campfire Craft- Flameway Left

Participants will create their very own campfire craft to take home. The campfire is made out of mostly natural tiems
and uses old CDs.
Can I be Invisible on the Green Screen Too?- Computer Lab-SLC

Individual participants in this workshop will learn how to operate green screen technology. The workshop will focus on
using the green screen software, editing green screen photos, setting up the system, and how to utilize green screen as
a program at your 4-H camp and at community fairs.
Cyberbullying- EEC Basement

A majority of youth bring cell phones to camp as well as other small, portable electronic communication devices. Youth
that attend camps where it is permissible to bring electronic communication devices are vulnerable to being cyber
bullied or cyber bullying someone else at the camp. Cyberbulling can be in the form of malicious texts, photos, blogs,
Facebook postings, emails, etc. The Cyberbulling team has been working on several modules and would like to see the
best way to introduce the curriculum in the camping situation. The Cyberbullying curriculum is geared to adults
(facilitators and parents) and youth alike. The adult portions of the curriculum instruct adults how to recognize cyber
bullying, how to address cyberbullying and how to prevent future events from occurring.

Friendship Bracelet Fun!- Assembly Hall

Camping and friendship bracelets have gone together for decades. Learn two techniques for 16 strand (round) and 17
strand (flat) bracelets using 6mm reusable foam patterns and embroidery floss.

Learn the basics of geocaching, how to operate a handheld gps, and ways to incorporate it into your camping
programming. You may even be able to find some caches located at Jackson’s Mill

Making Choices Game: How will you invest your future?- Kanawha Assembly- Richard Fleisher, Morgantown, WV
This is a thought provoking, nonthreatening game for kids and adults. It provides insights about choices that need to be
made by children, youth and families with limited resources. If you had a “15-candy budget” to spend every month how
would you spend it? What would your priorities be?

Needle Felting- Assembly Hall

Needle Felting is a relatively new craft which can be as simple as coloring or as creative as sculpture depending upon
your mood and artistic talent. Using a barbed needle participants learn to felt yarn and wool roving to a background
fabric or felt it to itself to form 3-D sculptures. Your campers will love it and it just might become a new pass time to
you.
Recyling T-shirts to a Scarf

Create your own scarf made from repurposed t-shirt’s. This is a great way to declutter a closet and make a fun accessory
in the process.
Study and Work Abroad- Flameway Right

opportunities along with resources to help finance your trip and ways to stay while exploring different cultures and
customs.
This is 4-H- Ag Hall of Fame

A ceramic tile as the background for a “This is 4-H” exhibit. 4-H emblems, logos etc. are glued on to the tile and then
sprayed with acrylic painting to ensure the logs are waterproofed. A piece of felt is attached to the back of the tile to
prevent scratching.
Vision Boards- EEC Basement

Personal visions provide structure for individuals to reflect on their life and create a future where they see themselves.
Visioning can provide the “Big Picture” and give focus to youth and adults as they grow and develop. During this LEO,
participants will develop a vision board of their own using art, picture, and word.
West Virginia History: Is it only found in textbooks or can it be found in your own backyard? SELC Boardroom

Review Native American Culture specific to this area. Write you name using the Cree Alphabet, discuss the types of
shelter the Native Americans developed to meet their needs in this area, view artifacts. The goal of the program is to
create another way for children and adolescents to appreciate the world in which we live.
Yoga for Kids- grassy area beside N. Panhandle weather permitting/ WV Building if rainy/cold,
