Philips Fidelio headphone range goes High Resolution
BERLIN – Gibson Innovations today announced that its full range of Philips Fidelio
headphones are now High Resolution Audio (HRA) compliant. The headphones all meet or
exceed the rigorous standards for HRA systems set out by the Japan Audio Society and the
US Consumer Electronics Association. High Resolution Audio compatible playback devices
are capable of reproducing frequency and dynamic ranges from better-than-CD quality
music sources.
“We’re proud that our Philips Fidelio headphone range meets the stringent standards required for the High
Resolution Audio stamp of quality,” said Pascal van Laer, Headphones Business Leader, Gibson Innovations.
“Whether enjoying your Hi-Res collection or another source of music, the smooth extended high frequencies
of our Fidelio headphone range help you get more from your music.”
The Philips Fidelio headphone range includes award-winning in-ear, on-ear and over-ear models. The most
recent additions to the range are:
The Philips Fidelio F1 are a slim and lightweight on-ear headphone that deliver highdefinition sound quality in a portable, flat folding design. Created with long wearing comfort
in mind, the Philips Fidelio F1 delivers powerful sound through hand-selected 40mm high
definition neodymium drivers.
The Philips Fidelio X2 delivers rich bass and warm sound without compromising on clarity
and airy, spacious sound. Smooth sound, smooth design, the high quality lightweight materials
– including an aluminum frame – and soft memory foam ear pads provide an all-round
immersive listening experience from this acoustically open-backed headphone.
Philips Fidelio NC1 is the first in the Fidelio range with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).
Combining high-quality sound, sophisticated design and advanced technology, the NC1
redefines what a noise cancelling headphone can be. The headphones use a hybrid ANC
approach, with four microphones detecting ambient noise before inverting the signal,
effectively canceling it out and converting background noise to silence for a more peaceful
travel experience.
Note for editors: The HRA-compliant Philips Fidelio headphones are: Philips Fidelio X2;
Philips Fidelio L2; Philips Fidelio NC1 (in noise cancelation off mode); Philips Fidelio F1;
Philips Fidelio M2BT (when using the supplied headphone cable); Philips Fidelio M1KIIBK/ BO/ WT; Philips
Fidelio S2BK/ WT/ LB/ KB; Philips Fidelio S1/ SB.
