The Third Nordic University Research Course, Ystad/Malmö, September 10-12, 2012
HYPERTENSION AND CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE: FROM METABOLIC AND
VASCULAR DYSFUNCTION TO ORGAN FAILURE
Arranged by The Swedish Society of Hypertension, Stroke and Vascular Medicine, together
with the Danish Hypertension Society, Finnish Hypertension Society, and Norsk Forening for
Hypertension, and in collaboration with Lund University and its strategic research
programme EpiHealth and the linked Danish-Swedish EU-Interregional IV project for
cardiovascular epidemiology
Following the two previous successful events in Copenhagen 2009 and in Oslo 2010 we are
pleased to invite you to this Third Nordic University Research Course. Participants are
expected to be PhD students and junior researchers at universities within the Nordic Baltic
area who have an interest in hypertension, cardiovascular disease or diabetes. Project
presentations by all participants and generous time devoted for discussions will ascertain an
interactive and dynamic course program.
Applications should include: (1) a personal curriculum vitae of no more than one page; (2) an
abstract of the research program or a current research project of the applicant of no more than
one page. Submit your applications electronically by July 1, 2012 to

Priorities for participation will be made by the national representatives, and is based on the
individual application. Applications received later than July 1, 2012 will be accepted provided
space is available.

The fee for the course is EUR 300. This includes hotel for two nights with full board,
conference facilities and all course material, social program, and transfer from Malmö to
Ystad and back.

Haemostatic mechanisms and alterations in hypertension and cardiovascular disease

Vascular dysfunction: aorta and large arteries; vascular ageing


