Museums Project Outline Main objective: The global objective of this Call for Proposals is to foster greater mutual understanding and civil society dialogue between Europe and Turkey by increasing intercultural dialogue via common projects of museums, related NGOs and universities in Turkey and Europe. Specific objective: The specific objectives of this Call for Proposals are to enhance the potential of museums in Turkey to cooperate with their counterparts in EU member states, establishment of long-term cooperations and partnerships in the sector and providing financial support to exchange of experience and knowledge amongst museums in Europe and Turkey. Priority areas: 1. Promoting the development of innovative initiatives, ideas and productions in museums of Turkey and EU Member States in order to create a creative and uniting platform enabling professionals, students and museum-lovers to collaborate and exchange knowledge and experience among themselves. 2. Promoting networking activities, sustainable partnerships and mobility of operators and their works among museums and/or related NGOs in Turkey and EU Member States. 3. Increasing the knowledge and experience of museum professionals and developing their understanding of contemporary and emerging professional issues and competencies in terms of museum management, exhibition and curation techniques (selection, design, management and organization of collections) and other expertise. 4. Awareness rising on museums, museum studies, their role in culture, history and arts and intercultural dialogue, by means of common events, projects and studies; Duration: The planned duration of an action may neither be lower than 10 months nor exceeds 12 months. Expected duration of our project is 12 months. Envisaged Activities: 1. Inception activities and Need Scope The meeting of project staff in Beyoglu/Istanbul to determine needs and areas of collaboration as well as setting up a mechanism for the management of project. 2. Equipment of Beyoglu memories Necessary equipment will be procured after need analysis before the trainings so that trained staff will be able to use them accurately. 3. Training and staff exchange Upon the needs of the institution determined at the first stage a training programme and staff exchange programme will be organized. The training will be given to a maximum of 5 staff of the applicant according to the needs that have been determined above. Staff exchange will be between partner and applicant for one key personnel that they decide where they will get insight of each institution, working techniques and share their know-how. 4. Exhibition An exhibition in Beyoglu district, showcasing partner’s presence in the district and istanbul will be organised with the contributions of the partner, and the outcomes will be made accessible to everyone, with events in Beyoglu, partner city and Brussels. Budget: minimum amount: EUR 50.000. maximum amount: EUR 120.000. The certain budget distribution between partners and the applicant will be decided after the activities are detailed upon approval of participation to the call for applications.
