Evaluate and select information sources and digital tools based on appropriateness to specific tasks Lesson Idea: Choose one image to represent each season in the year. Include the range of temperatures of each season in particular to Memphis. Learning Objective: Evaluate the different seasons and temperature ranges of each season in Memphis. Grade Level: 2nd Problem Statement: Imagine you are a meteorologist and while you are on vacation in a remote place, you bump into aliens from Mars. They do not know anything about the seasons on Earth. In order to teach them about our seasons, make a chart explaining the four seasons through images. Include the kind of precipitation that may occur in each season, or lack thereof. In addition, give the temperature ranges in each season in relation to Memphis. Include which months comprise each season. Make sure to include your sources in a reference section. Assessment: The student will be evaluated on the following criteria: 1. Graphics that appropriately depict each season 2. Correct identification of each season 3. Correct general temperature range of each season in Memphis 4. Grammar and presentation The following grading levels will be used: below proficiency, proficient and advanced.
