SCIENCE PLANS Earth Science: Weather and Seasons This is a 7 day unit. Anticipatory Set: What are weather patterns? How does weather impact you? What are the seasons? How is temperature related to the seasons? Students take notes in SIN describing each season including: months, weather, holidays, clothing, activities, etc. USV: Magical Mother of Nature: Four Seasons USV: The Four Seasons USV: A First Look at Weather USV: Weather Smart: Thunderstorms USV: Hurricanes Elaboration/Evaluation: Students choose their favorite season and create a product (Frayer Model, flip book, brochure, story board, etc.) to describe and defend the properties and benefits of that season. Extension: Students write a persuasive piece of writing describing why their favorite season should be everyone’s favorite season. Assessments: Seasons/Weather Assessment (Summative)
