Purpose and Goal
The purpose for this project is for you to learn about and understand how philosophy and
mathematics have evolved together and shaped each other throughout history, and how closely
related mathematics and philosophy are. It is my hope that you will also find your philosopher
and their contributions to be exciting and interesting!
Part I
Research your philosopher, their work and their contributions. Make notes of your thoughts,
discoveries, information, and ideas in the orange Math In… section of your binder.
You will need to include the following:





the name of your philosopher
where and when your philosopher lived (or is living)
3+ specific contributions they made to philosophy and mathematics
3 aspects of your topic you find particularly interesting
at least 3 sources on a bibliography in MLA format
Part II
You will need to put together a demonstration of your learning. You may make a video, song,
digital presentation, or another creative thing to present your knowledge to the class.
PowerPoints and Prezis are OK this time.
Your presentation must be 3 - 5 minutes long.
