ISIS Less A Threat Than Bureaucracy

ISIS Less A Threat Than
Bureaucracy
Just about the time you think government bureaucracy has sunk as
far as it can in the sea of idiocy, it plumbs even greater depths. This
time the fateful decision involves those Americans that have joined ISIS.
The extremely urgent Western effort to identify and track Westerners who have joined ISIS or
other extremist Islamic groups around the world has hit a real snag, courtesy of the U.S.
counterterrorism officials.
While almost every Western government acknowledges they now face an immediate threat by
their own citizens who have fought with one of the terrorist groups but still retain passports to
legally return to their country to carry on the fight there, the American government is most
reluctant to void the passports of these individuals.
Following the lead of the clueless Commander-in-Chief who sees the world through a lens of
what he wants it to be rather than what it is, America's top counterterrorist official, Matthew
Olsen, claims, "The threat they pose to the U.S. is primarily in Iraq. The threat is much more
immediate for Europe." Olsen is the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center.
If this man is that far out of touch with reality, he should immediately step down from his post.
But as long as the Clueless Wonder inhabits the White House there will be no resignations
necessary as long as he follows the company line of "there is no danger except where danger is
acknowledged."
Early last week U.S. Attorney Eric Holder stated there are about 100 Americans and 1,000
Europeans fighting with various terrorist groups in the Middle East. This was before the
estimated size of ISIS went from 10,000 to over 31,000. The latest estimates put the number of
Americans actively engaged in opposing U.S. interests in the region at just under 400. But
Holder flatly said, "We (Justice) are doing all we can to make sure these individuals are
monitored and held accountable." What a novel concept, holding "enemies of the state
accountable."
The Administration doesn't want to revoke their passports. It wants these individuals to return to
America so they can be questioned. This is where the real disconnect between its politics and the
realities of the world collide. This bureaucratic bunch, spanning two Administrations, has never
come to terms with who the enemy is since 9-11.
It is Islam we are fighting. Not Jews, not Christians, not Hindus, not Buddhists, not atheists and
not agnostics. Islam is the enemy. The reason the government is having trouble with this concept
is they still believe Islam is foremost a religion. It is not. Islam is a collective of religion and
government wrapped into one. Our incompetents in Washington have never come to grips with
the concept it is a government.
As far as the idea of 'not scaring these individuals from returning', that idea died with the Boston
bombing. The perps there had been put on the radar from international sources (Russia mostly)
but our bunglers dropped the ball because they refused to follow through on basic inquiries. If
they had done even a cursory scan of the two brothers, they would have found enough evidence
to have held them for intent alone under the Homeland Security regulations.
Further, there is no official estimate of how many terrorists have already come across our
undefended borders. The Administration would have you believe it was a flood of children
coming across the border only. It is not. People from at least 17 different countries have come
through the border with Mexico. More than a few of them did not speak Spanish or English to no
one's surprise but, apparently, the Clueless Wonder and his minions.
The hold-and-question method is finding little support among the very countries the
Administration is counting on to support the effort to thwart ISIS. The United Kingdom is one
who has flatly stated a desire to revoke passports immediately.
The Brits' position is these people, once they have left the region, can lose themselves in the
crowd in other, peaceful areas and then return if the passport is not revoked. American experts
disagree. But they have no clear plan on how to track these people--just as they failed to follow
through on the Boston Bomber information before the blast.
The idea these individuals could be found in mosques in America is apparently repugnant to
them. So they will focus on the 312,499,600 (plus or minus a few) Americans who have never
been involved in the region or been in a mosque since hostilities erupted for fear someone will
claim they are 'targeting' Islamists.
As stated before, it is Islamists who are the heartbeat of the opposition. The Obama
Administration would have been pacifists against Hitler's Nazis. They would have monitored the
situation to death, never set foot on the battlefield and Germany would be the superpower of the
world today.
In a war, it is imperative to kill the other guy before he can kill you. Obama doesn't know who
the enemy is. Obama wants to supply Syrian rebels with weapons to get rid of Assad there. ISIS
is part of the rebel force in Syria. Assad is therefore on our side and we should not be helping the
Syrian rebels.
But this doesn't fit with Obama's desire to oust Assad.
This Administration has so twisted itself into knots we are going to aid the very people Obama
has declared we must "contain and then destroy" as recently as last week. From a "no boots on
the ground" mentality to "we are just adding a few," policy is left groping in the dark at the top
and power is usurped by those in the bureaucratic shadows within the U.S.
In the final analysis, the most feared enemy of the American state is not outsiders. In the
Administration's eyes the top enemy is average, Constitutionally-loyal citizens that pose the
biggest threat rather than a passport-carrying citizen who is learning the terrorist trade in a war
zone.
"I have sworn on the altar of God eternal hostility to every form of tyranny over the mind of
man."--Thomas Jefferson
