Dance-a-Cross Scholarships
Financial assistance through the Dance-a-Cross scholarship program is available for those who qualify.
Applicants are asked to meet with us to determine what level of assistance is needed as well as completing a
scholarship application form. All information regarding individual scholarships will be held in strict
confidence between Dance-a-Cross and the recipient.
Dance-a-Cross scholarships are not regularly funded by any private or public outside source. Small donations
that are accepted from time to time are designated to specific students. Our annual scholarship Christmas tree,
which generally produces under $50 in profit, is used to help cover administrative costs of the scholarship
program. Historically, 90% of the scholarship dollars annually are provided by Dance-a-Cross, LLC, and are
taken directly from the profits of the company.
Because of the limited resources available, and increasing demand it is important that you read and
understand the following policy.
Policy
1. The scholarship application must be completed before a scholarship can be awarded.
2. Scholarship recipients can pick their class after August 24th. Please understand that we cannot
guarantee that your first class choice will be available.
3. Initial fees, when applicable, will be due at that time.
4. Poor class attendance – missing two or more classes for three consecutive months, or missing four
classes in a row (for reasons other than medical related) – will terminate the scholarship.
5. The scholarship will last until the end of the dance season in June. The application process will be
repeated for the following year if assistance is required.
Scholarships will not be given to pay for the following:
 Store merchandise such as, t-shirts, leotards, sweatshirts, etc.
 New shoes (note: we do keep a stock of used shoes which we give away.)
 Competition Classes and related costs: tuition, competition fees, competition warm-up, or special
apparel and accessories, travel expenses.
 Private lessons
 Miscellaneous items such as trophies, recital DVD, etc.
For additional financial assistance
There are government programs and scholarships available for children from qualified low-income families.
