Sarah can pick up Spencer and Eric and give them a lift back to our house. They
can wait at Starbucks on Mass. Ave in Central Square (right where you exit the
subway) and text her cell when they are there.
BASIC ITINERARY
Thursday Oct 18
Thursday dinner – eat at your HOME- EAT WELL!
Red eye flight- DRINK WATER! Bring your favorite snacks… sometimes they sell
snacks on the plane but they are pricey- bring cash if you plan to buy any food.
8:00pm Meet at United Airlines Check in
Friday Oct 19
BreakfastNorwalk airport is where we change planes- plan to buy breakfast snacks, like
Jumbo Juice, or bagel, fruit… healthy on the go food. Drink a LOT of Water!
Short flight to Boston8:30am Arrive in Boston Logan airport and get to our Take Bus/T to hosts
Cambridge home stays “home” via public transportation with Ulla and Spencer.
Breakfast at your home. Drink a LOT of Water!
Friday lunch and snacks- pack a lunch and snacks from your home and carry
with you as you walk to course, and practice. Be sure and have snacks for after
your row! DRINK a LOT of water! Have your own cash on hand if you want to
buy anything. Eat healthy!
Also, pack and bring clothes for dinner out.
(10:20am: Spencer and Eric travel to the Harvard Athletic Center for the regatta
Coxswain Clinic that runs 11am to 12:30. Eric stays and Spencer travels to meet
the team.)
11:00am Take the T from your home (or walk if it is close) to the Harvard Square
T Stop on the Red Line.
11:45am Meet men’s team and Coach Spencer at the newspaper stand across
the street from the Harvard Coop in Harvard Square right at the Harvard Square
T-stop. Walk together as a team to the Harvard Athletic Center to get Eric, then
to the Colby boat trailer at the Finish Line Area (FALS).
Rig Eight, practice, look around Rowing Expo Tent.
5:00 Friday Dinner- OUT! Durgin Park in Boston! We will all meet at the Colby
trailer at FALS and walk to the T, then take the T together to dinner along with
Susan and Tiff. Drink a LOT of Water!
Take the T back to your home.
Saturday October 20
Susan Races in the Grand Master Single at 8:30am, Race 2, bow #17 of 35.
Team: Breakfast- at home
Saturday Day- Lunch – pack your lunch and carry snacks and lunch with you.
Have your own cash on hand if you want to buy anything. Eat healthy! Drink a
LOT of Water!
9:15am Meet at Newspaper Stand right at the Harvard Square Stop on Red Line
Walk as team to FALS
9:45am Meet at Colby Trailer at FALS.
Susan meets at Colby trailer once her race is finished. Susan then walks with
Team to Harvard’s “Newell Boathouse”.
Spencer races in the Club Single at 11:48am, Race number 13, Bow #22 of 67
entries.
Watch Spencer Race, meet Tiff, tour of boathouse, meet Harvard Crew Coaches.
Spencer joins us at Harvard boathouse, and walks with team to “Reunion Village”
about ¼ mile downstream.
1:30 pm Team heads back to host homes, Eric can join with Ilia’s group for the
day. Everyone rests and studies.
Travel by walking or T to host home for team dinner.
6:30pm Saturday Dinner- Team Dinner at one of the three host homes! (Most
likely pasta!)

Sunday, October 21
- Breakfast at your home.
Sunday lunch- snacks- pack lunch and carry snacks and lunch with you. Drink a
LOT of Water! BRING Everything WITH YOU! You will not return to the host
home.
9:15am Meet at Newspaper Stand right at the Harvard Square Stop on Red Line
Walk as team to FALS
9:45am Meet at Colby Trailer at FALS. Check boat as it was raced Saturday by
Colby Alumni.
Men’s Youth 8, 1:05 start, race 44, bow #55 of 85 total entries.
Race finishes – de –rig and load boat. You will have all your belongings with you
– carry them as you walk to the T and get to airport for 5pm flight. Prepack your
bag so your change of clothes are on top! Have food with you.
Dinner- Once at the airport, you can buy dinner at the airport- have cash for this!
Drink a LOT of Water!

THE BASICS
 Carry on bag, like backpack for belongings on plane- plan not to check
bag as it costs!
 Above bag can be used during the day for regatta belongings as you go to
and from course
 Student ID and driver’s license
 Wallet and spending money (food and souvenirs)
 Emergency contact information
CLOTHING- 30-40% chance of rain on Sat/Sun, 47 low, 64 high predictions
 Racing attire and LOCR gear: unisuit, long sleeve LO shirt, Long tights,
splash jacket, yellow LOCR hat to assure everyone is matching (Write your
name in everything)
 Running shoes, 5 Pairs Dry socks
 Jacket - Rain gear for entire weekend
 Warm hat- LOCR stocking cap , Gloves
 Khakis and Polo shirt to wear on plane – both ways.
 Pair of jeans/pants, nicer shirt for walking around Saturday, dinner Sat night.
No holes in clothes.


