January 13, 2014 Dear Scholarship Applicant, The Bob Beaty Foundation Scholarship is a $1000 Scholarship that will be awarded to graduating student-athletes from any Colorado high school. The scholarship will be awarded in the memory of Bob Beaty, who was the head football coach at Evergreen High School from 1976-84 and Chatfield High School from 1985-95. The scholarship is funded by the Bob Beaty Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. If you have an overall GPA of 3.5 or above and have lettered in any sport, then you are eligible for this scholarship. Applicants will be judged on achievement both academically and athletically. The recipient of the award should demonstrate integrity, determination and leadership skills that invoke a sense of justice. He or she should value the importance of the team and contribute to the wellbeing of the school and community. Recipients of full academic or athletic scholarships are excluded. In order to apply, please submit an essay in which you introduce yourself and explain how you meet the above scholarship criteria. Please include which high school you attend and what sports you have lettered in. Also please submit two letters of recommendation, one from a teacher and one from a coach as well as a copy of your current transcript. All applications must be received by April 1st.
