DAKTRONICS NCAA DIVISION II MEN’S BASKETBALL
EAST ALL-REGION TEAMS ANNOUNCED
Daye of Bloomfield Named Regional Player of the Year
ALBANY – The 2010-11 Daktronics NCAA Division II men’s basketball East All-Region squad has a new feel to it with nine of
the 11 honorees making their first appearance. The first-team is comprised of four seniors and a junior. The second team is
stocked with veterans as well with a graduate student, three seniors and a pair of juniors listed.
Senior guard Gage Daye (Newark, NJ) of Bloomfield has been named the Daktronics 2011 East Region Player of the Year. He
is joined on the first team by senior guard Thomas Baudinet (Watertown, CT) of Saint Anselm along with C.W. Post junior
guard Stefan Bonneau (Middletown, NY) and senior guard Darin Mency (Hagerstown, MD) of Merrimack. Bentley senior
forward Brian Tracey (Bow Mar, CO) rounds out the list of first-team selections.
Daye has earned first-team Daktronics All-Region honors for the second time in his storied career. The two-time Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year, Gage was a second team Dakrtonics All-American as a junior in 2009-10.
He closed out the regular-season fourth in the nation in scoring and 20th in assists with 23.9 points and 5.4 assists per-game.
He recently established himself as the school’s all-time leading scorer, surpassing the previous mark of 2,350 points.
The 2010-11 Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year, Baudinet is making his third appearance on the Daktronics AllRegion squad after garnering second-team accolades as both a junior and a sophomore. Baudinet, who was a first-team AllLeague pick for the second consecutive year, averaged a league-leading 22.1 points to go with 5.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists
per-game.
Bonneau, the 2010-11 East Coast Conference Player of the Year, was furthermore tabbed the ECC Tournament Most
Outstanding Player this season. He is averaging a league-leading 19.0 points.
Mency, one of only five players in Merrimack men’s basketball annals to amass more than 2,000 (2,039) points, was a firstteam NE-10 All-Conference pick after garnering second-team honors each of the past two years. Mency is second to
Baudinet among the leading scorers in the NE-10 with 20.5 points per-game. He also averaged 6.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists
this year for the Warriors.
Tracey is the leading scorer and rebounder for the East Region’s top-seed in the NCAA Tournament. Tracy is averaging 17.1
points and 7.6 rebounds and is furthermore shooting 48.7 percent (173-for-355) from the floor and 38.6 percent (44-for114) from the arc for the Falcons. He is a mere eight points away from becoming only the fourth player in the program’s
history with both 1,500 points and 800 rebounds, and is just 18 points shy of cracking Bentley’s all-time top-10 scoring list.
In addition to the first-team, six other individuals have been recognized. The Daktronics second-team All-East squad is
comprised of junior guards Isiah Wallace (Springfield, MA) of American International and Rob Gutierrez (Brooklyn, NY) of
Saint Rose, senior forwards Terrence Parkes (New Rochelle, NY) of Goldey-Beacom and Devon Young (Monmouth Junction,
NJ) of Felician, Dominican senior center Almin Hodzic (Budd Lake, NJ), and Bridgeport guard Dave Boykin (White Plains, NY),
a graduate student.

The Daktronics All-Region Team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and
programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The All-Region team is voted on by
NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) from the East Region.
The 2010-11 Daktronics men’s basketball All-America team will be announced in conjunction with the NCAA Division II Elite
Eight in Springfield, MA on Tuesday, March 22. The five first-team members from each of the country’s eight regions are
placed on the national ballot with Division II SIDs selecting first, second and third-team All-America honorees.
