URBAN MOBILITY AND HEALTH - improving urban sustainable access Workshop in Gothenburg, Sweden May 19-20, 2011 Venue: Chalmersska huset, Södra Hamngatan 11, Gothenburg Urban Mobility and Health Effects is co-organized by Chalmers University of Technology/ University of Gothenburg (GU) and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT) under the umbrella area of transport. The aim is to deepen the recently initiated collaborations between the universities, and important research currently going on within four chosen areas will be presented. In connection to these sessions, mutual connections based on urban conditions and challenges and possibilities facing the cities of Delhi and Gothenburg will be discussed. We will evaluate and compare current development situations and relationships between these urban areas to identify possibilities for development for shared activities. The multidisciplinary approach The collaboration between Chalmers/GU and IIT Delhi will address the overarching issues associated with sustainable urban mobility and health by combining expertise and cutting edge technologies from the three universities in research areas that involve the following topics: The Workshop seminars The scientific seminar includes presentations from researchers at Chalmers, GU and IITD. Topics presented during the sessions will cover four selected areas: Air quality and climate change, Safety, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Urban Futures. Time will be allocated for discussions in connection with the presentations. More information can be found in the workshop program.
