In order to be considered for a Hudson Educational Fund Scholarship, students must complete this application
and return it to the High School office by Friday February 20, 2015 at 2:00pm. Compose a personal essay that
includes information you want the selection committee to know as you are considered for specific HEF
scholarships. Include information that explains your background, experiences, your future goals, & especially
“your passion” or “defining moment” that facilitated your desire to pursue post high school education. Use
one page or less double spaced. Also provide a listing of school and community activities; leadership
position(s) you have held and/or honor(s) you have earned, and include all other requested information.

Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Any scholarship essay that appears plagiarized or duplicated from previous
applications will be eliminated from consideration without notification to the applicant.
Scholarship awards will be presented at the Senior Awards Program held May 2015.
HEF board members who are family members of student applicants do not participate in the selection process.
Hudson Educational Fund Scholarships 2015
One of the purposes of the Hudson Educational Fund is to provide scholarship assistance for post secondary
education to graduates of the Hudson Community High School. There are many different scholarships
available. Please check all of the scholarships for which you are applying. Scholarship award amounts may
range from $150-1,500.

(for a high school senior planning to attend a 2 or 4-year university/college; who has
demonstrated academic improvement during their high school career)
_____Bodees’ Buddies Scholarship
(for a high school senior planning to attend a 2 or 4- year university/college;
applicant must have participated in athletics, illustrates integrity, helpfulness; GPA 3.0-3.5)
_____Ray and Verjean Busching Scholarship (2)
(for high school seniors planning on higher education)
_____Coonrad Family Scholarship
(for a high school senior planning to attend a 4-year accredited university/college,
preference given to those attending out of state)
_____Wesley Epling Memorial Scholarship
(for a high school senior planning on higher education)

(for a high school senior planning to attend a 2 or 4-year accredited university/college;
pursuing a career in health care)

_____Clifford Murray Memorial Athletic Booster Club Scholarship (2) **
(for high school seniors planning on higher education, to be awarded to one male and one
female athlete who participated in at least one school-sponsored athletic program in each of
their high school years at Hudson High School and who respectfully represents the Hudson
Community School)
_____David Roth Memorial Scholarship
(for a high school senior planning to attend a 2 or 4-year accredited university/college or
technical program; preference given to a varsity letter winner, illustrates leadership skills,
and proclivity for helping others throughout their 4 years at Hudson High School)
_____Student Leader Scholarship
(for a high school senior planning to attend a 4-year accredited
university/college; applicant must have demonstrated leadership during high school)
_____Vore Family Scholarship
(for a high school senior planning to attend a 2 or 4-year accredited
university/college; pursuing a career in either the Arts (visual, performing, etc) or the
Sciences)
_____Lois E. West Memorial Scholarship
(for a high school senior planning to attend a 2 or 4-year accredited university/college
focusing on business education or a business related field)
_____Deanna Wheeler ReMax Home Group Scholarship
(for a high school senior planning on higher education; preference given to those attending a
4-year university/college; applicant must have been involved in an extracurricular activity;
preference given to an athletic letter winner; preference given to a student who has held a
part-time job; must have a GPA not to exceed 3.5)
