successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important
on this journey?

Who: Any full-time senior planning to enter a U.S. college with a
commitment to pursue a bachelor’s degree (students may start at a 2
year institution and transfer to a 4-year institution)
Criteria: Students must demonstrate financial need, be involved in cocurricular and community service activities, display integrity and
perseverance in overcoming adversity, and maintain a min. 2.0 GPA
Value: $7,000 to $22,000

Who: Seniors who are children of disadvantaged military families
Criteria: Applicants will be evaluated on a biography, a 500 word or less

Veterans of Foreign Wars: Voice of Democracy Scholarship
Who: Students in grades 9-12 who write and record a 3-5 minute audio
essay with the theme “My Vision For America”
Criteria: Audio essays are judged on Originality, Content, and Delivery
Value: $30,000 for the national winner

Prudential Spirit of the Community Award:
Who: Students who are making a difference through volunteer service
The top student at WHS will be nominated for state-level honors
