Event Summary

GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION
 The name of the event will be Murdock Chevrolet / 1280 The Zone Hit it Straight as an
Arrow, Win a Camaro and Dinero.
 Weekly qualifying events will be held, one SLC course per week, from Wednesday, June 18 to
Wednesday, August 13.
 Grand Finale will be held from 8:00am to 9:00am on Saturday, August 16th, Bonneville Hole #17.
Grand Finale hole must measure a minimum of 165 yards.
 SLC Golf will place a sign on each qualifying hole tee all summer stating, “This Hole will Host a
Qualifying Event for the Murdock Chevrolet……” including logos. Matt Kammeyer is having those
signs made now.
WEEKLY QUALIFYING EVENTS
 Each qualifying event will run from 7am to 7pm. That is the time period for people to hit shots on
the hole hosting the qualifying event, not the range of tee times.
 There is no minimum yardage requirement for the hole and placement of tees for the qualifying
events.
 At each qualifying event, there will be only two tees on the qualifying hole. All men on one tee, all
women and children 12 and younger on the forward tee
 SLC Golf will set up the golf course on Q day with two or three holes/flags on a par three NOT used
for the qualifying event. Golf course staff decides the hole and whether two or three flags. The
purpose is to add to the event feel on Q day.
 SLC Golf is responsible to staff the contest hole from 7am to 7pm keeping track of the best two
shots and the distribution of prizes as explained below.
 SLC Golf will be giving discount golf coupons to anyone who hits the green during qualifying
events. Steve will talk with Murdock Chevrolet about providing car washes or oil change discount
coupons. Possibly Bees baseball tickets and/or Nike Tour Tickets.
 SLC Golf will give free $7 cart rental or range bucket certificates to anyone who hits inside the
length of the flagstick from the edge of the hole at each qualifying event.
 We can’t require people to pay a green fee to participate. If they want to walk out to the hole
hosting that day’s qualifier and hit a shot when there is an opening on the tee, they can do that.
But, that will not be promoted in any way, and it is only available if the hole is open.
 1280 The Zone morning show with DJ and PK will air from your golf course.
 Camaro will be displayed at each qualifying event.
 The best two shots at each of the nine qualifying events will earn the right to participate in the
Grand Finale….for a total of 18 players.
 Contest rules need to be on site, and state that the hole-in-one award is only for the first hole in
one made at the Grand Finale at Bonneville on Saturday, August 16.
GRAND FINALE
 All 18 qualifying players will hit from same tee regardless of age or gender.
 One shot per player.
 Grand Finale hole must measure a minimum of 165 yards. We will need to double check the
yardage before setting the tees and cutting the hole.
 SLC Golf will have a bag with monopoly money spilling out of all pockets to display at the tee
during the Grand Finale.






Murdock Chevrolet will have the Camaro on display on #17 hole.
SLC Golf will purchase the insurance for the $25,000 cash prize for the Grand Finale. Estimated
cost is $150.
Steve West will work to get Tyson or K.O. Murdock to hit first shots at the Grand Finale ala
Palmer, Nicklaus, and Player at The Masters.
We will need to video tape the Grand Finale.
We need to check to make sure the Bonneville Snack Shack has the necessary phone line that can
be used during the Grand Finale.
Bobby Casper and Brian Taylor will air their Saturday morning golf show on site with live play by
play of the Murdock Chevrolet / 1280 The Zone Hit it Straight as an Arrow, Win a
Camaro and Dinero Grand Finale!
PRIZE PACK FOR 18 FINALISTS (2 closest shots at each of nine Qs)
 Each of the 18 qualifying players at the Grand Finale will receive a gift pack including the
following:
o Vokey Wedge already received from Titleist’s Terry Outzen. Players will get to pick their
choice based on random draw of a number picked out of a hat. First draw will be to
determine order of number drawing; either last name A to Z or Z to A.
o Certificate for a free SLC Golf LoyalTee Discount Card.
o Golf balls from Titleist.
o 1280 The Zone - Restaurant Certificates
o Murdock Chevrolet Oil Change and/or Car Wash Certificates


o SECOND PLACE/NEXT CLOSEST SHOT (Regardless of hole in one)
 SLC Golf $300 toward the purchase of any annual Adult or Senior SLC Golf
