Dear Parents/Guardians of Eight Graders:
On June 25th your child will be graduating from Central School and it is time to make preparations. Attached
you will find a graduation gown form and a diploma form which require your attention. Please return these
forms to your child’s first period teacher by Friday, March 21st.
GRADUATION GOWNS
Each graduate wears a gown during the graduation ceremony and for the graduation picture. The graduation
picture will be taken on May 13th. All students wear their gown for the picture. Please fill out the enclosed
form so that we may order a gown for your child. Note that the form requires that the height be “with shoes.”
If your child will be wearing high heels, please account for this when you fill out the form. If you are planning
on having your child wear a sibling’s gown, please be advised that we have used the color gown that we
currently have for the last several years. If you have a gown from any year prior to 2005, the color will not
match. We have samples in the office so that parents may compare what they have to what the color will be for
this graduation year. Obviously, we can’t permit a student to wear a gown for the ceremony or the picture if the
color does not match the rest of the graduation class. Please take a moment to come into the office to compare
gowns, if your child will be wearing a sibling’s gown. The cost of the gown is $15.50. Please make check
payable to “Central School Student Funds.” If the cost of the gown creates a financial hardship please
contact the office for other alternatives.
DIPLOMA NAME
The diploma company will print the name exactly as it is written on the attached form. Please use the form to
print the name as you would like it to appear on your child’s diploma. Kindly sign the form to indicate to us that
you filled out the form. There is no fee associated with the diploma.
Once again, please have both forms and payment returned no later than Friday, March 21st, to your child’s
period one teacher. Please contact Stephanie Alber (ext. 4001) if you have any questions.
