2015-2016 Ankeny Hawk Football “This Time It’s Personal” July 3, 2015 To the Parents/Guardians of an Ankeny Hawk Football Players, Cheerleaders and Coaches, Greetings to you all! Welcome to another great year of Hawk Football. We are very excited to share lots of information with you. This letter comes to you from the Ankeny Hawk Football Parent Committee. We are a non-profit committee of parents who support the varsity football players, coaches, managers, ball boys, and cheerleaders. That is a group of approximately 120 people. Our committee of parents is separate from the school and activities office when it comes to fundraising for the team. This letter is to provide you with important information that will help you understand what we do throughout the year for all the players, coaches, managers, ball boys and cheerleaders. In addition to a few mailings, we will share information with you online through: Our football committee page, www.ankenyhawkfootball.com Our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/AnkenyHawksFootballParentCommittee Twitter, AnkenyHawksFBParents, @ahsfbpc The following is what our committee has been organizing and fundraising for: Senior Poster Pre-season hog roast (Sunday, Aug 9) Watermelon feed (Wednesday, Aug 26) 9 Thursday night meals ($10.00 value per player) 4 Friday night meals ($10.00 value per player, cheerleader, coach, manager, ball boy) T-shirts given to all players: theme shirt and homecoming shirt ($20.00 value) Season highlight DVD ($5 Value per player and coach) Players Memory Frame of the season ($40.00 value per player) Coaches year-end thank you gifts Cheerleader year-end thank you gifts Manager and ball boy year-end thank you gifts Awards banquet at Courtyard Marriott ($20.00 value per person, Sunday, Nov 22) Season Highlight DVD viewing; date and location TBD As you can see, it takes a lot of fundraising from the support of our local businesses. Each business that is on our senior poster donated $250.00 in cash or food. We appreciate all the generosity from these local businesses, and could not do this if it was not for them. We also will fundraise by selling t-shirts. Hog Roast This year our hog roast will be held at Ankeny Hope Church located at 520 NW 36th St., Ankeny, IA on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 4:00pm. The hog roast offers the coaches, varsity players, managers, varsity cheerleaders and all their parents an opportunity to meet one another in a casual setting and provides information for the upcoming year. Please make every effort to have your varsity player or cheerleader attend with parents only. Agenda 4:00 Hog Roast Event Starts 4:00 – 4:15 Welcome 4:15 – 5:00 Dinner 5:00 – 5:30 Player/Family Introductions 530 - 6:00 Coaching Staff/Family Introductions, State of the Program, Goals 6:00 – 6:30 Players/Cheerleaders Dismissed. Parents Only Meeting with Coach Nelson We plan on having the senior poster available and 2015 T-shirts for purchase. We will be selling season and rivalry t-shirts. Parent/family apparel can also be picked up. There will also be dessert sign-up sheets for pre and post game meals. The committee will provide the pork and buns. We ask that you provide your own table service and beverage and ask you to please bring the following: Senior Football Players Junior Football Players Managers and Cheerleaders Dessert Side Dish Chips ***All players, managers & cheerleaders – please bring either a case of water and an 8 pack of Gatorade/Powerade (20oz) or 2 - 8 packs of Gatorade/Powerade (20oz). This will help off-set the cost of the drinks for Thursday & Friday night meals. Thank you so much for your generosity. Player/Cheerleader Fees The committee is in need of your help supporting our players and cheerleaders. We are asking for a $50.00 donation from each player and a $25.00 donation from each cheerleader. This will assist in covering a portion of our costs. Please have your donation returned by August 3, 2015 (or you may bring it to the Hog Roast). If you require financial assistance please don’t hesitate to let one of the committee members know.
