DELWP Lancefield Fire Update Lancefield Cobaw Fire 17 November 2015 Firefighters and support staff from the Department of Environment Land Water and Planning ( DELWP), Parks Victoria and CFA are continuing work at the Lancefield Cobaw fire ground. DELWP recovery teams and support staff are assessing and coordinating replacement of fences, assessing and managing injured wildlife, removing hazardous trees and providing community with the latest information. Managing enquiries and assistance A range of support and assistance for residents is being coordinated by Macedon Ranges Shire Council, DELWP and other organisations. Information about counselling support is also available. Phone 5422 0333 and ask for Recovery. Fencing Work on fencing and control line rehabilitation is continuing. To date, contractors have cleared 45kms of fence lines and completed 17.5kms of fencing (by distance). Highest priority works are areas that need of temporary fencing for stock, or need clearing for erection of a permanent fence, followed by properties that need stock fencing but stock have been moved to other secure areas on the properties. Next priorities works are where landholders have indicated fencing works on their properties are a lower priority or less of an immediate concern. A task force has been removing trees prior to fence replacement and to ensure internal property access. Tank water replacement is occurring by priority need, and some dam water has already been replenished, also on a priority basis. Insurance DELWP Insurance assessors are continuing to work with affected residents.
