He and Darsy have been meeting with Leah each month to make ensure a smooth
correspondence with Leah and the 4-H group. There will be some shavings from Horse fair that could be
sold. Need to contact Deb Cablao to coordinate this transaction.
Pat will not be at the fair much. He plans to be at the first Livestock meeting to start off the fair.
Then Stacy will be filling in for Pat during the fair. He hopes to come for the Awards Ceremony (and
maybe the Ice Cream Social.)
Darsy has made up the Superintendent contact list – see attached. Stacy Sowders will cover
the livestock meetings on the other mornings. Alice Phillips will do the Ignite presentations. Octaviano
Merecias is handling the Makers Fair. They may keep this arrangement for future fairs.

Dogs, Horse and Hearth awards to be combined. Suggested that there be a 5 minute limit per group.
The Seniors will be recognized on Friday for the Senior’s Recognition Night. The seniors will be

Superintendent Update:
 Beef – Lillian Logan -- No report. This will be Lillian’s last year as Superintendent. Might ask Nik
Vile to take over.
 Dairy – Robin Baggenstos – – She had planned on attending but too many things have stacked
up and need to get ready for the 4th of July Parade and the Horse Fair. We have 33 head
entered. 1 new dairy club with 1 member showing 5 head. 20 members with 3 first year dairy
members.
The Dairy Women will provide food for all Dary Cattle members on Tuesday during setup.
The Washington County Dairy Women are in need of your help!! Our booth looks
horrible, I have asked Leah if Albert and his crew could pressure wash the booth and I would like to
put together a painting party the week before fair. This is the first step in revitalizing our booth. It
also needs a new roof and to be reparied and painted on the inside, but that will come later. More
information to follow via email on when this will happen. Any and all help is appreciated.
 Dairy Goats – Susan Cackler –She has a judge.
 Fiber Goats – Janet Tilp – She has a judge. I have 13 kids in my group and there are others from
other groups. Susan has 4 fibers kids and Michelle had 4 fiber kids. There are 28 kids signed up
in the Fiber Goat project. We are going to need about 28 pens. It is going to be a huge show
this year. This is the first year we will be going to State.
 Llamas/Alpacas – Susan Cackler – There are three kids entered in this project area. The alpacas
will be located in the breezeway between the small animal barn and the beef barn. These
alpacas will go in a mini-van.

 Pygmy Goats – Michelle Stansell – Number of kids have increased and so have the number of
goats. 8 kids have signed up in the Pygmy project.
 Sheep – Sue Kalina/Stephanie Barker – No report.
 Pigs – Cathy Herinckx/Bryce Herinckx – As of right now all pigs that do not make weight for the
youth auction will not be allowed to go back home. The Auction Committee will haul them to
our backup buyer and the youth will get buy back price only They will get their check from the
Auction Committee. There will be no pigs delivered to any home butchers that do not make
weight. So we wil need to collect paperwork for every pig that goes thru scales.
o Each youth for swine was given paperwork when they went to sign up for the initial
weigh-in, back in April. They need to bring that paper work (filled out) with them to
the weigh-in Thursday morning of fair.
The Auction Committee is a separate entity. Need the kids to be there on time to load up their animals
