New Ulm Battery will be firing the cannon.
August 16- Author and Historian Curtis Dahlin will give a talk on his new book “Friends, Betrayal, Murders; The Massacre of the
Paul Kietzmann Party” at 1:00 p.m.
August 22- Date Night at the Fort! Come explore the Prairie with a friend or someone special, take a walk, enjoy food and drinks and other surprises. RSVP required by August 16 th by calling 507-508-2848, cost is $10.00 per person.
August 23-Archery in the park with Scott Kudelka at 10:00 a.m. near the Upper Picnic Shelter. Scott will also lead a Prairie Hike at 1:30 p.m. the hike begins at the Fort Commissary Building.
August 29-Children’s Day at the Fort from 12:00-4:00 p.m. There will be crafts and games for the kids.
September 6- Digital Photography for Children with Scott Kudleka at 2:00 p.m. at the Upper Picnic Shelter. Scott will also lead a 2 mile Nature Hike through the Fort Ridgley Woods and at 7:00 p.m. a Weather program at the Campground Picnic Shelter.
September 12- Historian Al Koenig will talk about a series of Earthwork Forts that were erected and used from northern Iowa to central Minnesota at 1:00 p.m.
September 19- Independent Historian John Labatte will talk about the Battle of Birch Coulee at 1:00 p.m.
September 26-Children’s Day from 12:00-4:00 p.m.
October 3- Fun Fall Trail Run, this run/walk will be a 5K trail run through Fort Ridgely State Park, all proceeds go to the Historic
Site and State Park. Participants will receive a free T-shirt as well as other prizes. The Run begins at 10:00 a.m. and registration is $25.00 per person. If you are interested, call 507-508-2848 to register. Come enjoy the fall colors on the prairie and in the woods!
