The regular meeting of the College of Arts and Humanities Graduate Studies and
Research Committee was called to order by the chair, Lynn Hepner, at 11:01 a.m. on
Monday, November 18, 2013 at the College of Arts and Humanities building, room 192.
Trisha Farmer, Secretary, was present.
Minutes from previous meetings were approved.
Program Revisions:
Texts and Technology PhD: Changes in curriculum. Updating the required courses by
adding additional section and updating electives area by listing areas of specialization.
Unanimously approved.
Department of English, English MA – Technical Communications track: Change to
curriculum. Adding more courses to restricted electives. Adding a non-thesis option.
Unanimously approved.

approved.

Unanimously approved.
Women’s Studies, Gender Studies Graduate Certificate: WST 5347: Research in
Women and Gender Studies. Unanimously approved.
Special Topics:
Department of History, History MA: HIS 5937: History in the Digital Age. Unanimously
approved.
Department of History, History MA: HIS 5937: Readings in Historic Preservation.
Unanimously approved.
Lynn mentioned the Graduate Student Awards will be announced soon. Committee
members will be notified by email of the next meeting which will be held sometime in
late January/ early February 2014 depending on award deadlines. Trisha will distribute
the Spring 2014 meeting schedule in December before the fall term ends. Meeting
adjourned at 11:26 a.m.
