QUEEN and PRINCESS CONTEST

COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY and REQUIREMENTS:

All applicants must live within 100 miles of Florence, Arizona.

Applicants for Rodeo Queen must be between 14-18 years of age. Applicants for Rodeo Princess must be between 8-13 years of age.

You must be able to participate in the Coronation Dinner Saturday November 1 (Time to be determined) the Florence Jr. Parada Parade on Saturday, November 29 th , rodeo performances on Saturday,

November 29 th and Sunday, November 30 th , 2014 and other required performances as specified in the

Letter of Agreement.

All contestants will be asked to present a 2-5 minute memorized speech, participate in an individual interview, respond to impromptu questions and participate in a horsemanship event . (See Order of

Events for information on speech topic)

You must be between the ages of 14-18 to compete for the title of Rodeo Queen and 8-13 to compete for the title of Rodeo Princess. If you are named the Rodeo Queen you will not be able to run for the title again for one (1) year following your reign. If you are named the Rodeo Princess you will not be able to run for the title again for one (1) year following your reign but WILL be eligible to run for the title of Rodeo Queen if you qualify due to age.

Please note the Queens Silver Crown is PERPETUAL and will be returned to the Pinal County

Mounted Posse at the end of the title holders reign.

COMPETITION RULES

All contestants must be at the ELKS LODGE #2350 on Attaway Rd. no later than 8:30 AM for sign-in.

All contestants must wear a skirt and blouse/shirt or dress or jacket with pants during the interview and speech and impromptu portions of the competition.

All contestants must wear a cowboy hat, boots, long-sleeve shirt and long pants for the horsemanship competition.

Contestants will be judged in 5 categories: Interview, Memorized Speech, Impromptu questions,

Appearance and Horsemanship.

Horsemanship Skills : N o competitor (or person) will be allowed to groom, tack, mount/warm-up or walk-out their horse while at the Whitlow Arena prior to the horsemanship component of the competition. If you or someone does walk-out or mount your horse while at the Whitlow Arena prior to the competition, you will be disqualified. You will be allowed time to groom and tack your horse.

You will also be allowed time to warm-up your horse prior to the horsemanship event. This will be conducted as a group to allow everyone equal warm-up time. (see Order of Events)
