Results from Sept. 9, 2015 Survey Here is one question that I have today. My experience with integrals does not include double and triple integrals is limited. So I found the class really over whelming. No question For the problem we completed today (the kidney shaped object) should we preform a degrees of freedom analysis on it before we try to solve it, or something similar, in the future? How do triple integrals work and when should they be applied? Just i need from Dr biernacki to define the word because i am international student and sometimes i feel lost with some words so that i need to use my phone to look up for the meaning of the word, I found this class to be: usefull usefull useless usefull Very useful somewhat useful Very useful usefull somewhat useful useless Very useful somewhat useful usefull It will be so helpful if he just slow down a little bit and explain the word more. Because sometimes i need to go home and listen for the lecture video to see what words i missed. Appreciate your understanding. Honestly, MATLAB is the hardest part to do so far. not so useful If the normal n is defined as a vector with length one, is the direction described as orthogonal to the plane? Why are there lower bounds on the triple integrals but not upper ones? Could you refresh my melting mind of how to do a mass balance equation? I understand Mass Balance = in out, but could you set one up in a sample problem? how to determine which angle to use in the system Why was there no upper bounds in the integral to get the dm/dt? What are alternate functions in Matlab that can solve our chemical engineering problems? If possible can we have some visual demonstration too? When is our next homework due? Dr.Biernacki, usefull not so useful usefull Very useful Very useful somewhat useful usefull usefull somewhat useful somewhat useful Very useful Very useful usefull How are you ? we need more practice in units analysis and units conversions in this class to be in the right track. It's important for us to have this kind of practices. When integrating, are units effected? Could you better explain the integrals and how they give us what we need? Will questions for tests and homeworks have their angles given in radians or degrees? I have no questions. Will setting up the integral generally have the same process for all mass continuity problems? How do you determine the direction of the surface normal vector? Will I fail this class?! usefull somewhat useful usefull usefull Very useful usefull Very useful usefull Very useful not so useful not so useful I have more of a statement. In my physics 1, calc 3, and this class, matrix algebra and the use of vectors is a core part of the class. In all three, lectures started with the idea that this material is common knowledge. Why is linear algebra not a corequisite or prerequisite? The teacher is doing a good job helping those not use to vectors, but it could be fixed with my previous suggestion. Why does the survey at the top say 4410 instead of 2020? Also, how did you know to integrate the dot product in terms of the area, or is that just an intuitive thing? Explained the mass integrals. (the books explanation did not make since) Could we do more examples/problems in class so we can get more practice on how to go about solving problems (learn strategies)? How can mass be generated in a system? How do we do double and triple integrals??? How will we apply this equation to chemical systems? Why do you use an integral to find change in mass? Having not had Cal three, I'm a little lost in the terminology. usefull usefull somewhat useful Very useful usefull usefull usefull Very useful usefull Very useful Very useful usefull usefull not so useful usefull
