Position Description:
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking an Informatica Administrator or Epic Clarity
ETL Administrator to join the Analytics and Reporting team, which is responsible for data
warehousing and information management. You will be part of a seasoned team, which develops
and supports data solutions (e.g., data warehousing, ETL processing, scorecards, reports, data
visualization, etc.) for customers throughout the organization. The Administrator is responsible for
the continued development and support of the extract, transform and load processes, along with
the development and maintenance of multiple Clarity environments. Configuration and
implementation of the Clarity administration tools are key responsibilities in this role. Epic Clarity
Administration experience is preferred, however experience with other ETL tools, especially
Informatica Power Center 9.x, is acceptable. We will train on Epic Clarity.
We are seeking a detail-orient problem solver, who gains satisfaction from “owning” his/her

spirit to this position through building, supporting and maintaining strong relationships with his/her
teammates. Customer service delivery is a key success factor for this position.
BS or BA Degree in IS and 4-5 years of experience in business intelligence solutions are
required. Strong oral and written communication skills are also required. Certification in Epic
Clarity ETL Administration is required, preferably at the Epic 2012 level. The ideal candidate will
also possess a proven eagerness to continually learn and will enjoy working in a dynamic and
collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
• Experience with installing, implementing and testing complete Clarity environments (i.e.,
console, Compass, hyperspace, Oracle database, configuration of Epic tools) for multiple Clarity
non-production and production environments
• Create and schedule Clarity ETL extracts to meet requirements of downstream dependent
databases and Crystal reporting
• Resolve issues, such as error messages (Warnings and Errors), load failures, data and table
issues, KB-SQL problems, to deliver accurate data meeting our customers’ requirements
• Responsible for designing Clarity environments and ETL solutions for release and version
upgrades; performs analysis between release and version levels to identify and document
differences
• Provide downstream database owners with results of upgrade analyses, to ensure changes are
clearly communicated to colleagues
• Experience executing backloads, backfills and delay build processing; responsible for managing
these activities to ensure the integrity of the Clarity database is complete and accurate

• Build custom Clarity ETL solutions to satisfy data requirements outside of the standard Clarity
ETL extracts
• Develop, build and maintain relationship with Epic technical support, with the goal to optimize
the Clarity environment and sustain Clarity to meet Epic’s requirements
• Provide off-hours support during monthly Epic application special upgrades
• Familiar with Meaningful Use set up within the Clarity process for reporting.
• Responsible for reviewing tickets associated with monthly special update processing, to identify
downstream impact from applications to Clarity environment
• Experience with integrating and supporting Business Objects/Crystal reporting into Epic
environment
• Knowledge of methods to validate Clarity tables against Cache database using Datalink
validation process
• Responsible for sharing on-call responsibilities on the team
Skill Set
• Epic Certification (Clarity Administrator) in Epic 2010 required
• Proven knowledge of Clarity Upgrade processes such as Compass Comparison, Pre-Upgrade
Analysis, Clarity Upgrade Script
• Certification in an Epic Clarity data model preferred
• Proficient in SQL programming language
• Understands Oracle performance tuning processes such as indexing, partitioning, compression,
etc.
• Knowledge of Epic technical components such as Data Courier, Cache database, Datalink
• Knowledge of reporting processes (Crystal development, Business Objects InfoView)
• Experience with relational databases and data warehousing
• Knowledge and experience with Informatica PowerCenter 9.x is a plus

3. Epic Systems – Certification in one (1) application data model
Information Analyst II
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer related field required, or commensurate experience.
• 2-5 years of Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing experience, preferably in a healthcare
environment.
