CALL TO WORSHIP
The church is made up of all kinds of people:
short and tall, young and old and in between,
skin of every tone on earth, and colourful languages to match.
Together we celebrate!
(Response - Children)
Here is the church
Here is the steeple
Open the door,
and here are the people
Each one of us has an important part to play:
a story to tell, a voice for singing,
an insight to share, a talent to offer.
Together we celebrate!

OPENING PRAYER
Creator Spirit, you know and love everything about us. You are
aware of the waves of feelings and the sparks of thought
throughout our days. You are mindful of our movements and
2
actions – our work and our play, our leisure and our sleeping. We
are held by you through the palm of creation. May we be attentive
to your holding now and bask in your affirmation. We will praise
you for truly we are wonderfully made. Amen.

Psalm 104: 1, 14-24 “All Things Bright and Beautiful”
(Sung) All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful:
in love, God made them all.
Bless the Lord, O my soul.
O Lord my God, you are very great.
You cause the grass to grow for the cattle,
and plants for people to use,
to bring forth food from the earth,
and wine to gladden the human heart,
oil to make the face shine,
and bread to strengthen the human heart.
(Sung) The cold wind in the winter,
the pleasant summer sun,
the ripe fruits in the garden:
God made them every one.
All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful:
in love, God made them all.

The trees of the Lord are watered abundantly,
the cedars of Lebanon that God planted.
In them the birds build their nests;
the stork has its home in the fir trees.
(Sung) Each little flower that opens,
each little bird that sings,
God made their glowing colours,
God made their tiny wings.
All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful:
in love, God made them all.
The high mountains are for the wild goats;
the rocks are a refuge for the rabbits.
You have made the moon to mark the seasons;
the sun knows its time for setting.
(Sung) The purpleheaded mountains,
the river running by,
the sunset and the morning
that brightens up the sky;
4
All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful:
in love, God made them all.
People go out to their work and to their labor until the evening.
O Lord, how manifold are your works!
In wisdom you have made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
(Sung) God gave us eyes to see them,
and lips that we might tell
how great is God our maker,
who has made all things well.
All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful:
in love, God made them all.

1 Corinthians 1:10-18
“All Creatures Great and Small”
WE RESPOND TO GOD’S WORD
All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful:
in love, God made them all.
You make darkness, and it is night,
when all the animals of the forest come creeping out.
The young lions roar for their prey, seeking their food from God.
When the sun rises, they withdraw and lie down in their dens.
(Sung) The rocky mountain splendour,
the lone wolf's haunting call,
the great lakes and the prairies,
the forest in the fall;
MINISTRY OF MUSIC
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
Wisdom, whose joy gives us the day’s feast
and whose discernment seeks justice for all,
we thank you for the goodness of creation.
You have connected us to each other
in ways we could not have imagined or sought ourselves.
When we feel isolated,
you remind us we are not alone
and prod us to be better members
of this blessed family of creation.
We lift up those who find themselves on the fringes:
5
6
For those who have fallen ill,
who are weakened by hunger, debt, and hopelessness.
For those who feel lost, by grief, in addiction,
or ignored by powers and principalities.
For those who are deceived by their own power,
seeking profit and esteem only for themselves and their friends.
Wisdom, who weaves us in and out of the life
that God created and called good,
mend the loose threads of this web of life we call home,
and tighten the bonds that bring us
into loving relationship with one another. Amen.
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy
kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give
us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the
power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
*COMMISSIONING and BENEDICTION
May the God who frees the hawk to soar,
who waters the tree to shelter the bird,
who clothes the grass with lilies,
open our spirits to the wisdom
and joy abundant in creation,
and freely given to us in grace. Amen.
*SUNG BLESSING:
Go now in peace. Never be afraid.
God will go with you each hour of everyday.
Go now in faith, steadfast, strong and true.
Know He will guide you in all you do.
Go now in love, and show you believe.
Reach out to others so all the world can see.
God will be there watching from above.
Go now in peace, in faith, and in love.
Amen. Amen. Amen.
