TRASH TALK…….. Everyone knows that trash is collected Mondays and Thursdays. Everyone knows that it’s picked up by the Opdenaker trash removal service. Everyone knows that there are blue containers for trash/garbage and green containers for recyclables. But do we all know what constitutes Zero-Sort Recycling or what to do with the dishwasher and kitchen cabinets that the installer failed to take with him or the old couch or bookcase you’ve replaced? Here’s everything you need to know about trash disposal and recycling at Putnam Village: The current Post Office slogan is, “If it fits, it ships”. At Putnam, as long as it fits in a Blue bin in the trash enclosure, Opdenaker will carry it off. Anything bigger requires a call to them at 610459-3515 for instructions – i.e. when/where to place outdoors. Complete and attach ID form [enclosed]. Extra large or heavy (>50lbs.) items: call Opdenaker to schedule a special pickup day and to determine the fee. The company will bill you. Attach completed ID form to these items also. One last thing …………..please, please be considerate and discontinue the practice of depositing packing boxes, etc. without breaking them down/folding where possible. (With your name/address in plain view, you run the risk of neighbors’ criticism.)
