Physician Assistant – Pediatrics
Working under the direction of a Physician, you will provide diagnostic and therapeutic health
care services in the setting of a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, with exceptional
opportunity for professional growth.
Responsibilities include:










Assessing patient’s health by obtaining medical histories
Performing physical examinations
Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and laboratory studies
Developing and implementing management plans
Assisting physicians during medical procedures
Performing therapeutic procedures
Counseling patients and families regarding prescribed therapeutic regimens
Maintaining accurate and complete patient records
Participating in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
Handling other related duties as assigned
To qualify, you must be a Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited program, possess current
certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and have
current NYS licensure and DEA Certificate. BLS and ACLS certification also required. Twothree years’ experience as a physician assistant is required. Background in pediatrics, cardiac
surgery, and/or critical care is preferred.
