On Friday, February 20, 2015, we would like to formally thank the parents of our student-athletes for all of their support throughout the course of the season. Therefore, we will be celebrating Parents’ Night prior to the Boys Varsity Basketball game vs. Lakeview. We ask that all parent(s)/guardian(s) be in attendance by 6:30 p.m. so we can get everyone lined up before announcing each student- athlete and his or her parent(s). At the conclusion of the Girls Basketball contest, we will begin the festivities beginning with the Boys and Girls Varsity Bowling Teams. We will follow with Girls Varsity Basketball Team. The Boys Varsity Basketball Team will conclude our Parents’ Night. We will be taking a picture of each student-athlete with his/her parent(s) which will be posted on our athletic website at www.kentcityathletics.com and later printed and given to student-athletes. During our final league game vs. Morley Stanwood on February 27, 2015 we will be hosting Senior Night. On this Friday night, we will be recognizing the achievements of our Senior basketball players. Prior to the start of each game vs. Morley Stanwood, we will announce each senior individually, including information about each student-athlete. Finally, we would like to pass along the District information for the boys and girls teams: Our boys’ basketball team will be hosting the MHSAA Districts this year. Kent City drew a bye in the first round and will play the winner of Holland Black River and Muskegon Heights Charter Academy on Wednesday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m. Admission to the game will cost $5.00 per person – passes are not accepted as this is an MHSAA event. The girls’ basketball team will be traveling to West Michigan Christian for MHSAA District action this year. Like the boys, the girls’ team drew bye in the first round and will play the winner of North Muskegon and Ravenna in the District Semifinals which are scheduled for Wednesday, March 4 at 5:30 p.m. We would like to thank you for all of your help and support throughout the season. More importantly we thank you for letting us work with your student-athlete, we only hope the experience they have at Kent City Community Schools and Kent City Athletics is a positive one they will take with them for the rest of their lives. Go Eagles! Sincerely, Jason Vogel Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Kent City Community Schools Kent City Athletic Department 351 N.
