Edinburgh Child Protection Committee Annual Event 2015 8th October 2015 | Hibs Stadium, Easter Road, Edinburgh Conference Agenda The aim of the day is to give a clear understanding of issues faced in working with families with complex parental issues of drugs and alcohol, domestic abuse and parental mental ill health. Alone, any one of these issues can pose a risk to the wellbeing of children and young people within the family, but the co-occurrence of these issues can increase the risk of significant harm to children and young people. The audience is invited to listen to expert keynote speakers who have been brought together to give their experience and perspective of the ‘Toxic Trio’ and the lived experience of children and young people. Workshops are being provided to give participants a greater understanding of what resources exist in Edinburgh and areas of good practice. 8th October 2015 – Hibs Stadium, Easter Road, Edinburgh Registration 9:00 am – 9:30am 9:30 am – 9:45 am Opening Ceremonies: Main Auditorium Michelle Miller, City of Edinburgh Council, Chief Social Work Officer and Chair of Edinburgh’s Child Protection Committee 9:45 am – 10:30 am Keynote Speaker: Main Auditorium 10:30 am – 11:15 am Market Place Vicki Craik, NPS and Training Co-ordinator, CREW Vicki is Crew’s New Psychoactive Substance and Training Coordinator and is responsible for leading training and information production relating to psychostimulant drugs.
