2015 Illini District
Junior District Championship Meet

The 2015 Illini District Championship Meet is a YMCA meet for all swimmers. The meet will
be conducted in accordance with USA Swimming Rules & Regulations, Illinois YMCA rules
governing swimming competition, Illinois/Missouri Area YMCA Competitive Swimming
Rules, and Illini District YMCA Rules. Safety rules will be strictly enforced.
LOCATION AND FACILITIES:

Swimmers and spectators will enter the building and head past the welcome desk to the
Bock gymnasium. We will use the gym as the staging area for the swimmers and families
to camp out for the day. There is a sound system in the gym which will be used to call
the heats to the bull pen. The bull pen will be in the aerobics room just off the north side
of the gym, which has a connecting door. We will have bull pen attendee’s leading kids
from bull pen area through the family locker room, and into the pool area. The hallways
will be lined with mats for safety of swimmers. The pool area is accessible for spectators
through the south glass doors. There is seating on the removable bleachers on the south
end of the pool. Touchpads and starting blocks will be in place at the north end during
competition. The north end is 5 feet deep and 3 ½ feet deep on the south end. The timing
system will be a Colorado 6. There is a scoreboard in the pool area on the north wall.
Coaches are asked to stand on the east side of the pool where access is available to kids
before their swim on the northeast side.

QUALIFYING TIMES:
Swimmers having achieved 2014-2015 Illini Jr.District Guideline Times are NOT eligible to
compete in events for which they achieved times.
ENTRY CHECKLIST: To participate in the competition all forms and payment must be
received before swimmers enter the water on Saturday, February 28, 2015.

ELIGIBILITY: All swimmers must be members of the YMCA they are representing as of
December 1, 2014 and on the roster submitted to the Illini District Chair. Swimmers must
also have competed in three closed YMCA meets during the current season.
ENTRY FEES: $3.00 per individual event
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS: All individual events will be conducted as timed finals.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS: Medals will be awarded for 1st-12th place.
TEAM AWARDS: There are no team awards for this meet.
OFFICIALS: Officials interested in working this meet should contact Elizabeth
Braunecker at ebraun70@frontiernet.net. There will be a mandatory meeting for all
officials working the meet will begin 40 minutes prior to the start of competition.
OTHER ITEMS:
-T-shirts are available for pre-order. Shirts will be available in limited quantities on the
day of the event.
-50/50 Raffle will be available on the day of event.
-Concessions will be available on the day of event
- There is a hospitality room for the coaches and officials on the day of event.
- Area hotels are able to reserve blocks of rooms for the event. Each team will need to
contact hotels for reserving for their team.
