Spelling Contract Purpose: Study for the spelling test on Friday. Keep this in mind as you choose your assignments. Directions: You may choose any assignments on this list, however the assignments must add up to 50 points. When you have finished all of the assignments, staple them together and turn them in. ABC Order Repeated Practice Word Syllables Thinking Cap Time! Directions Create a game that can be used to practice your spelling words. Make a crossword puzzle on graph paper that includes all of your spelling words. Use your spelling list to write a short story. Underline or highlight each word. Use graph paper to make a word-search puzzle that includes all of your spelling words. Use each spelling word in a sentence that shows its meaning. Underline or highlight each word. Use a dictionary to write each spelling word and its definition. Write a conversation between two people that includes all of your spelling words. Underline or highlight each word. Use your spelling list to write a newspaper article. Write similes and/or metaphors using half of your spelling list. Create a comic strip using all of your spelling words. Underline or highlight each word. Write one or more poems using all of your spelling words. Underline or highlight each word. Write all of your spelling words in a continuous line to form a picture or a design. Create a chart and use it to classify all of your spelling words according to their part of speech. (noun, verb, adjective, etc.) Write each spelling word three times. Assign a color to each letter and use the assigned color every time that you write its assigned letter. Type your entire spelling list four times on a computer, with each list typed in a different font. Print it out. Write your spelling words in ABC order. Write each spelling word five times each. Divide all of your spelling words into syllables. Come up with your own idea and share it with your teacher for approval and to determine the point value. MAKE SURE THAT EACH ASSIGNMENT INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: Your name, number, and title of the spelling list on the top of the first page. The spelling assignment name and point value that it is worth on the top of each page.
