Election Application
Fill out the first 3 questions and the position-based questions associated with each position you are running for.
To submit the applications or if you have any questions or concerns please email RSO@oneonta.edu
Individuals may answer multiple questions for multiple positions.
Use as much space as needed to fill out each question within the candidate application.
During the elections, candidates will be asked to present a speech to the general assembly not to exceed 3
minutes.
After the speech, candidates will field a series of questions, and then electors will have a short period to discuss
each candidate’s potential in closed forum.

1. Why are you interested in becoming a member of the RSO Executive Board?
2. What experiences do you feel have best prepared you for the Executive Board position?
3. List any extra-curricular activities, jobs, or volunteer experiences you anticipate for next year and the
time commitment associated with each one.
Position Specific Questions
President
1. What goals do you have for the organization this year? How do you plan to accomplish these goals?
2. As the president of RSO you will have to work closely with the Executive Board on several
projects throughout the year. Describe an experience in which you encountered obstacles while working on
a group project. How did you overcome these obstacles?
3. As president of RSO you will be the executive board member on the residential advocacy committee.
What issues do you plan on addressing in this role?
Vice President
1. The vice-president is programming chair. What experience have you had with programming? What ideas
do you have for future programs?
2. The Vice-president is both a leader and a member of a team. Describe an instance when you have been
part of a team.
Secretary
1. What interests you about the secretary position in particular?
2. The Secretary must be very punctual and organized; can you recall a time when you needed to do this?
3. As secretary of RSO you will be the executive board member on the internal affairs committee. If you
have had any experience in writing or working with constitutions please summarize your experience.
Treasurer
1. One role of the Treasurer is to keep the office organized and clean, how do you organize your own
personal space?
2. What is your experience with creating and maintaining budgets? How would you go about working with
the executive board to maintain the budget?
NCC
1. How do you intend to increase the level of participation, the number of programs facilitated by our
delegates, and the number of awards our delegation bids for in the upcoming conferences?
2. How do you intend on bringing what you learned at conferences back to SUNY Oneonta?
