Potted treats
You need:
24 small- and medium-sized jam jars with lid •
numbers (using template) • matt white and red spray
paint • black marker • white tray • Raffaello
How to make it:
Paint the outside of the jars and lids in red and white
and leave to dry thoroughly. Use the template to cut
out the number labels and colour in. Fill the jars with
Raffaello and screw the lids on. Stick the numbers
from 1 to 24 onto the lids and arrange the jars on
the tray.

Lady Nicholas
You need:
Red ladies’ or decorative boots • white branches
and pine cones (decoration store) • coral-coloured
and white craft cardboard • scissors • hole punch •
thin pink or white ribbon • double-sided sticky tape •
red baubles • Mon Chéri
How to make it:
Place the boots out on St. Nicholas’ Day (6
December) and fill with decorative branches and
twigs. Use the template to cut out round labels from
the cardboard and punch a hole in them. Use
double-sided sticky tape to attach a praline to each
label and thread some ribbon through the hole.
Hang the labels, baubles and pine cones on the
branches.

Fairytale forest
You need:
Gold, white and black craft cardboard • numbers 1
to 24 from film to stick on or black and white spray
paint • scissors • ruler • tray • decorative snow
• Ferrero Rocher
How to make it:
Using the template, cut out Christmas trees of
various sizes from the craft cardboard, stick or write
on the numbers and fold the trunks backwards to
make the trees stand up. Arrange the trees into a
forest on the tray and sprinkle over some decorative
snow. Hide a Ferrero Rocher behind every tree as a
sweet Advent surprise for each day.

Scandinavian Advent
You need:
Silver taper candles • candleholders of various
heights • a glass vase • olive branches • small
porcelain dishes • white or silver baubles (e.g. odd
ones from the Christmas decorations box) • white
craft cardboard • red acrylic paint and a small brush
or red felt-tip pen • hole punch • red wire (craft
store) • Raffaello
How to make it:
Use the template to cut four labels from the white
cardboard. Write the numbers 1 to 4 on them, punch
a hole and use the wire to tie them round the
candles. Place the candles in the holders and
arrange them on a shelf or dresser together with the
decorative items and a dish filled with
Raffaello.

Xmas in red
You need:
A large, round tray • small glass plate with glass lid •
glass vase • decorative branches • paper
decorations (e.g. fans) • large and medium-sized
red baubles • red honeycomb baubles • red sewing
thread • 4 red pillar candles • Mon Chéri
How to make it:
Place the tray on a table or dresser. Fill the vase
with branches and position on the tray. Adorn the
branches with the paper decorations.
Scatter some Mon Chéri on the glass plate and
place the glass lid on top. Arrange the plate and
glass lid, pillar candles and baubles on the tray.
Make sure that you have left enough space between
the decorations and the candles.

Cutlery tree
You need:
Gold-coloured craft cardboard in a range of tones
and patterns • pencil • cutter and cutting mat or
sharp scissors • ruler • Ferrero Rocher
How to make it:
Use the template to draw Christmas trees on the
cardboard and cut them out. Use the template to cut
two small slits in the tree. Place a tree at every
guest’s place and carefully insert the cutlery through
the slits. Top each tree with a Ferrero Rocher to
give your guests an especially sweet welcome.

You need:
One large pine cone • white spray paint • round tray
• white porcelain vase • olive or eucalyptus
branches • small and medium-sized silver baubles •
2 white pillar candles • small dishes e.g. with foot
• Raffaello in paper cases (in pack of 4)
How to make it:
Paint the pine cones white and leave to dry
thoroughly. Place the tray on the middle of the table
and put the vase with the branches on it. Fill small
dishes with the Raffaello and arrange on the tray
with the baubles, pine cones and candles.

Nostalgic place cards
You need:
White craft cardboard • hole punch • pen or gel pen
• white linen or batiste napkins (your own, or from a
flea market or department store) • thin red ribbon •
small golden baubles • double-sided sticky tape
• Mon Chéri
How to make it:
Fold the napkins into triangles. Position with the tip
facing upwards and roll the left and right corners
into the middle.
Tie a piece of ribbon round the napkin towers. Use
the template to cut a label for each guest from the
white cardboard, punch a hole and write your
guests’ names on them. Thread a small bauble and
the label onto the ribbon and tie onto the napkin with
a bow. Finally, use the double-sided sticky tape to
attach a Mon Chéri to each label as a sweet
surprise.

Suggestion: to add more colourful touches, spray
the labels with paint at a distance of approx. 30 cm.
Leave to dry thoroughly. Then write the names on
them and attach the sweets.

Sweet angel
You need:
Gold-coloured or gold-patterned craft cardboard •
pencil • cutter and cutting mat or scissors • hole
punch • thin golden ribbon • small, bulbous glasses
and vases with funnel neck • Ferrero Rocher
How to make it:
Use the template to cut wings out of the cardboard,
punch a hole and tie around the necks of the
glasses with the ribbon. Fill the angels with
Ferrero Rocher and arrange on the table as desired.

Loving gift packaging
You and me tree
You need:
Red felt ribbon (from the haberdashery or craft
store, approx, 35-70 cm long per tree) • strong
thread and a thick needle with sharp tip (or mediumstrength wire) • golden beads • satin ribbon •
double-sided sticky tape • gift wrapped in white
packaging • Mon Chéri
How to make it:
Thread the needle and add a bead, then make the
first loop with the felt and pull the thread through.
Repeat this procedure step by step and reduce the
size of the loop each time. To make sure the tree is
stable, the loops need to lie closely on top of each
other and tightened with the thread. Use the doublesided stick tape to attach a Mon Chéri to the thread
at the bottom and decorate the gift with the tree.

You need:
Gold and cream-coloured gift wrap • double-sided
sticky tape • pencil • cutter and cutting mat or sharp
scissors • Ferrero Rocher
How to make it:
Wrap the gift in the gold paper. Use the template to
carefully cut one large half tree or lots of small half
trees into the cream-coloured paper. Wrap the
cream-coloured paper around the gold gift paper
and fold the tree(s) over. Attach a Ferrero Rocher to
the gift or label using the double-sided sticky tape.
Suggestion: you can also wrap the gift in the creamcoloured paper first and cut the half trees in the gold
paper, then wrap the gift in it. A mixture of both
versions creates a beautifully festive gift
arrangement..

How to make it:
Pack the gifts in the white boxes. Use the letter
beads to thread the recipient’s name or little
messages like ‘Xmas’ or ‘For you’ onto the thin
ribbon. Tie onto the gifts. Make a bow with the
patterned ribbon and tie onto the gift. Attach a
Raffaello using the double-sided sticky tape.

You need:
Air-drying modelling clay • snowflake cutters • long
wooden skewers • lace doilies or lace fabric cut-offs
• white wrapping paper (plain and patterned) • thin
red ribbon • red feathers (craft store) • double-sided

How to make it:
Roll out the modelling clay and cut out snowflake
shapes. Use the lace fabric to press patterns into
the tips of the wet snowflakes, make a small hole
and leave to dry as instructed on the packet. Wrap
the gifts in the white paper and tie the ribbon around
them. Attach a home-made label, feathers and a
Raffaello to each gift.

Original Advent decorations
Snow flurries
You need:
12-16 doilies (own stock or from a flea market) •
fabric stiffener • double-sided sticky tape • porcelain
bowl • silver and white baubles (e.g. odd ones from
the Christmas decorations box) • light-coloured
festive decorative accessories as desired
• Raffaello in paper cases (in pack of 4)
How to make it:
Apply the fabric stiffener to the doilies as instructed
on the packet and leave to dry thoroughly. Make
four small adhesive points on each doily using the
double-sided sticky tape and attach to the window
pane like snowflakes. Arrange a bowl with Raffaello
on the window sill, alongside baubles and
decorative accessories.
Suggestion: for coloured doilies or those with
shelfwear, simply spray them with white spray paint
after treating with the fabric stiffener. Alternatively,
you can also use paper doilies (available from
supermarkets).

You need:
Gold picture frame • thin ribbon • drawing pins •
Christmas cards • decorative clips • tree decorations
(e.g. odd ones from the Christmas decorations box)
• double-sided sticky tape • small glass bowl
• Mon Chéri
How to make it:
Span two or three ‘lines’ of ribbon in the frame and
fix at the back with drawing pins. Use the doublesided sticky tape to decorate the Christmas post
with pralines and clip to the ribbon lines together
with the tree decorations. Place the frame against
the wall on a ledge or dresser. A bowl of Mon Chéri
offers a tasty treat while admiring the cards.

St Barbara’s Day good luck charms
You need:
Cherry branches • vase • red, pink or coral-coloured
craft cardboard • pencil • ruler • scissors • hole
punch • thin red satin ribbon • white permanent
marker • double-sided sticky tape • Mon Chéri
How to make it:
Arrange the branches in a vase filled with water and
place it on a dresser or table. Use the template to
cut labels from the craft cardboard and punch a hole
in each. Thread a satin ribbon through each label
and write ‘Fortune’ on it. Use double-sided sticky
tape to attach a Mon Chéri under the word.
Decorate the branches with the labels.
Suggestion: bring a touch of international flair to the
Advent tradition by using different languages –
‘fortune’ in English is ‘Bonheur’ in French, ‘Glück’ in
German and ‘Fortuna’ in Italian.
