Housing Typology in Bhutan compiled. 4. Housing Vulnerability Assessment for Stone Progress Training manual developed, reviewed, translated into Dzongkha, printed and distributed to 201engineers and technicians, 148 Masons, 103 Gups (local leaders), 58 village women Masons so far. 550 training certificates printed and 468 distributed so far. As a part of gender action plan, 61 mason‘s tool kits were procured and 59 tool kits distributed, including one given to the woman mason instructor. Masonry Houses Developed. 5. Publication on Housing Typology and Disaster Safe Construction Practices printed and disseminated after due consultations and verification by men and women of vulnerable communities. Exposure Trip/training for four engineers in Indonesia on the earthquake safe design and construction was completed. 183 engineers and technicians, 139 Masons, 93 Gups (local leaders), 58 village women Masons so far trained in Disaster Safe Construction practices in 10 Districts. Draft Housing typology in Bhutan already compiled and made as a part of the training manual and distributed as above. Draft Housing Vulnerability Assessment for Stone Masonry ready, but need to conduct a workshop to be reviewed by the core team. 1. Capacity building training conducted in 10 districts, a total of 201 engineers and technicians, 148 village masons, 103 Gups (local leader), 58 women masons from villages. A total of 87 Female participants attended the training. Output 2. No funding was used from this project. The draft compilation is already done and made a part of the training manual as an appendix. This activity is planned to take place in 2014, due to limited time it was pushed further. A total of 5 masons hired, trained and used as instructor during the capacity trainings in the districts. 4 men and 1 woman. 2.5 Demonstration and practical hands on training Output 3. Develop methodologies to assess vulnerability of existing housing stock 3.1 Develop housing enclopedia for Bhutan and housing vulnerability assessment methodology for stone masonry 100% T and L sections of the walls were constructed during the practical sessions 70% This activity of developing housing enclopedia is also a part of activity 2.2 compilation of housing typology. A draft vulnerability assessment methodology is already compiled. Output 4: Knowledge Management, Networking and Institutional Capacity Building Activity 4.1 Design/print and disseminate publication on housing typologies and traditional safe construction practices Activity 4.2: Regional training/institutional visits to be conducted on disaster safe construction practices and vulnerability assessment Though the compilation on housing typology is ready, the design, print and dissemination is planned for 2014. Institutional visit to be conducted Four engineers, three male and one female were sent to Indonesia to train on Earthquake safe design and construction in April 2013 for 5 days. Output 5: Project Management Support Activity 5.1:Procurement of Audio Visual Equipment Activity 5.2 Moving expenses Total Procurement of Video Camera 100% A video camera to take records of the training and also to capture disaster safe practices and demonstrate to the engineers, artisans and home owners was procured This fund was saved as we got the office vehicle assigned mid-way through the project 2.
