Math- Using a double bubble map, TSW compare and contrast two coins of their choice. Independent Practice: Language Arts- Using salt dough, TSW create fossils. Math- TSW choose an envelope with a designated amount of money written on it. Using the given coins, TSW place the correct amount of coins inside the envelope. After placing the coins inside the envelope, TSW exchange envelopes with a partner. Each person checks what the other one did to ensure the correct amount is placed in the envelope. Closure: Language Arts- TSW create a bubble map about fossils. Then TSW write down three questions they would like to know about dinosaurs. Math-TSW show $1 using coins. Independent Practice: TSW study pictures of different dinosaur types, noting different body features of the different dinosaurs. TSW discuss the features and why those features may have been important to the dinosaur's survival. TSW draw a picture of their favorite dinosaur and tell why they chose that dinosaur as their favorite. Math-TSW come up with a combination of coins that equal the designated dollar amount given.
