Long Range Lantern adjustable from 4–12nm+ Marine
Overview
This specification is for a long range lantern adjustable from 4–12nm+ marine lantern.
The lantern shall be available in either single or two tier optic configurations.
The lantern optic shall be able to facilitate internal sectoring across a broad range of output
requirements.
The lantern shall come with the ability to independently control individual LEDs.
The lantern shall be able to be set to operate as a rotating beacon.
1.0 Light Characteristics
The lantern shall be available in one (1) or two (2) tier models.
The lantern shall consist of up to two (2) tiers with each tier housing 16 ultra bright LEDs.
The lantern output shall be available in red, green, white, yellow and blue.
The lantern shall have a maximum available intensity (dependent on model) of up to:
- Red lantern output 2052cd
- Green lantern output 3743cd
- White lantern output 3587cd
- Yellow lantern output 1164cd
The lantern shall have a visible range of 4–12nm+.
The lantern shall have a horizontal output of 0–360 degrees.
The lantern shall have a vertical divergence of 5 ± 2.5° at 50% peak
The lantern shall have up to 256 IALA recommended flash characteristics. Flash characteristics shall
be PC programmed.
The lantern shall have 32 intensity levels. Intensity levels shall be PC programmed.
2.0 Electrical Characteristics
The lantern shall have a current draw of up to 5.6 Amps dependent on the colour of the lantern and
model.
The lantern shall have polarity protected circuit protection.
The lantern shall have an operating voltage of 12v DC only.
The lantern shall have an operating temperature range between -40 to 80°C.
3.0 Physical Characteristics
The body of the lantern shall be manufactured from anodised 6060n series aluminium.
The lantern lens shall be manufactured from UV-stabilised LEXAN® polycarbonate.
The lantern shall have a lens diameter of 155mm (6⅛ inches).
The lantern shall have 16 segment, multi-focus LED lens.
The lantern shall have a mounting pattern using 3 x 4 hole bolt pattern on 200mm OD base.
The lantern shall have a height of up to 395mm (15½ inches) dependent on model.
The lantern shall have a width of 235mm (9⅓ inches).
The lantern shall have a mass from 6kg (13.2lbs) dependent on model.
The lantern shall have a life expectancy of up to 12 years.
