On-Site Admission at Gar-Field High School

(Online Applications Due No Later than November 14)
Radford University and the Gar-Field High School counseling office have created an
opportunity for you to receive a decision on your application for admission to Radford
University EARLY in your senior year!
Radford University’s Admissions Averages
GPA Middle 50% - 2.9 to 3.4
SAT Middle 50% - 940 to 1090 (critical reading and math only)
ACT Middle 50% - 20 to 24
These averages do not reflect a guarantee of admission, but are merely provided for informational purposes.
In order to receive a decision on your application on the date of Radford University’s On-Site Admissions Visit
to Gar-Field High School, you must do the following:
 Transcript Request Form NO LATER THAN November 14
o
Submit your request for a transcript and indicate you want to participate in On-Site Admissions.
Request Your Official SAT/ACT Scores from the Testing Agency (takes about 2 to 3 weeks to arrive upon request)
o SAT scores can be sent through www.collegeboard.org
o ACT scores can be sent through www.actstudent.org
o All SAT and ACT testing must be completed by October/November in order for them to be
considered for on-site admissions. If you are taking an October test, you must list Radford on
your list of schools to receive your scores in order for them to reach RU in time for on-site.
o You may still take the December test, but those scores will not be available for on-site
admissions.
 Submit the Online Application NO LATER THAN November 14
o Available at: www.radford.edu/admissions
 Register in School Counseling office by November 14 (You must do so in person.)
o Only those students that register in advance will receive an appointment time to meet with an
Admissions Counselor on Wednesday, December 10, 2014

What Happens During an On-Site Meeting?
You will meet with an Admissions Counselor and receive one of two decisions on your application.
1) Offer
Congratulations! You have until May 1 to make your final decision about your attendance and have
the opportunity to apply to other colleges and also hear about financial aid and scholarships.
2) Defer
You will be rolled over to the Regular Decision Pool and reviewed once updated grades and/or test
scores are submitted
