Collin County Junior Livestock Show Schedule Mr. Schertz Schedule for all BARN kids Myers Event Center : 7117 CR 166 McKinney, TX 75071 Parents and Students please remember it is your responsibility to provide your own transportation to and from the Myers Event Center. Once students arrive at the Myers Event Center, they will NOT be allowed to come and go. Please bring money to eat at the concession stand (cash only) or you may bring your own lunch and small cooler with drinks. If you have not filled out the short travel form on our website, please do so and give to Mr. or Mrs. Schertz. This form is if the student is driving themselves or riding with someone other than the parent at anytime during the county show. The form can be printed off our web site at www.allenffa.ffanow.org ( travel: short-form) Monday, January 02 4-10pm Set-up Tuesday, January 03 (Swine Exhibitors will come to Myers after school) 9 - 6:00 pm schools) 4:00pm 4:30pm 1-10:00 pm Swine Arrival and Weigh-in/Classification (by All Sheep and Goat Exhibitors will meet at the school farm to load sheep in the trailer All Swine exhibitors must be at Myers Event Center at this time Tack, Displays, etc… must be in place. Wednesday, January 04 (Swine Students will be out of school all day, sheep & Goat kids will come as soon as you get out of school, must be there by 4:30pm) 7am 8:00am 9:00am 10 am 11am 1:00pm 3 – 6pm After Show Poultry arrives Fryers and Breeding rabbits arrive Poultry Judging Meat Pens and Breeding rabbits arrive Entries accepted in Livestock Division must be in place with the exception of heifers and steers Judging of meat pens followed by breeding rabbits Swine Show Official Weigh-in of lambs and goats All Swine & tack will be loaded on trailers and hauled back to school farm Thursday, January 05 (Sheep /Goat Kids only ones out of school all day) 6am 8:00am 2pm 3pm 4pm All Sheep and goat exhibitors must be at Myers event center by this time Goat Show begins- Breeding Goats, followed by Market Goats Sheep show begins- Breeding sheep followed by market sheep Cattle Exhibitors meet your animal at Myers Event Center at this time Cattle must be in place After Sheep/Goat show The animals & Tack will be loaded on trailer and return to school farm, students will need to be present to unload 5pm Commercial heifer followed by steer weigh-in 7 pm Shop projects in place Friday, January 06 (Cattle Kids only ones out of school this day) 7am 6-8am 9am 9-9:30am 10am 10am 5pm 8pm-close After Show All Cattle Exhibitors at Myers Event Center Heifer papers checked Shop Judging Horticulture entries accepted Beef Heifer Judging (Beef Master, Brahman, Brangus, Santa Gertutis, Simbrah, Other American Breeds, Angus, Hereford, Red Angus, Polled Hereford, Shorthorn, Charolais, Limousin, MaineAnjou, Simmental, Other Registered Breeds & Commercial Heifers) Horticulture Judging Steer Judging (American, English, Exotic) Allen FFA Works the Concession Stand (We need parents of non-cattle exhibitors to volunteer) All Cattle and Tack will be loaded and return to school farm Saturday, January 07 11am 11am-12:30pm 12:30pm 1pm 3pm If you have an animal that made the sale you need to be at the Myers event center at this time. Only breed champions will take the animal through the sale ring, any other sale spot, just the kid walks through the sale ring. Remember bring your ribbons you won at county with you, gives you something to display.
