Legislative Report 10/03/14 Bill Topic/Description AB 1543 Employment: Mass Layoffs, Relocations and Terminations Amends an existing law which prohibits an employer from ordering a mass layoff, relocation, or termination of an industrial or commercial facility without first giving a specified number of days' written notice to affected employees and the Employment Development Department. Requires the Department, upon receipt of the notice, to forward a copy of the notice to the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development. Requires the Department and the Office to post the notice on their Internet Web sites. Income Taxes: Credits: Apprenticeships Relates to the Personal Income Tax and Corporation Tax laws. Allows a credit against those taxes in a specified amount for each registered apprentice trained by the taxpayer in the taxable year.
