Cascade Friesian Breeding Contract 2015
This is a breeding contract for Cascade Friesians for FPS - FHANA registered stallion
ASLUN. Season runs from April through August 2015 with a live foal guarantee explained further in this contract. This contract is between Greg Rapattoni of Cascade Friesians ( Breeder ) and mare owner _________________ ________________. On this date:
___________________. Breeding fee is 700.00. A 200.00 booking fee will assure you a spot and is included.
1. The full amount of 700.00 is due upon execution of this contract.
2. Live Cover: The breeder shall charge 15.00 a day for mare care while at the farm. Due when mare is picked up.
3. Artificial Insemination: ( A.I. ) Mare owner is responsible for all vet fees that arise from A.I. which includes collecting, shipping, and returning any containers. THE SEMEN MUST
GO TO A LICENSED VET FOR THE MARE MENTIONED ONLY. There will be a 25.00 fee for CF to take the stallion to the vet for collection.
4. If mare owner chooses live cover, all reasonable care will be taken to assure the safety of the stallion and mare while at the farm. This includes hobbling the mare before breeding. Cascade Friesians will not be held responsible for any injuries that result from hobbling the mare. Mare owner is preferred to handle and hobble their own mare when breeding. Mare owner is responsible for any damages their mare causes while staying at CF.
5. An initial EVA test is required before any mare stays at CF. The mare will not be bred until results are documented and fees are paid.
6. If live cover is not working after 2 heat cycles, CF requires an evaluation on the mare through a uterine exam and culture. Another evaluation is required after 4 cycles.
7. After mare has been determined to have ovulated, an ultra sound is required after 14 days to determine pregnancy or non pregnancy so any problems or complications can be addressed, and we can breed her back as necessary. Regular vet visits are recommended after
45 days to assure pregnancy.
8. Should there be a collection agency involved, or legal problems or arbitration that arise, mare owner is responsible for any and all fees involved.
9. Live foal guarantee is a foal that stands and nurses on their own. Should the foal die after birth before nursing, this contract will extend to the next season. A LICENSED VET MUST
PROVIDE PROOF OF DEATH. A live foal guarantee does not guarantee you a foal. This is a standard in the industry. As a mare owner you need to do your part and bring your mare back as necessary.
10. Proof of breeding to the stallion Aslun will be issued within 30 days after birth.

11. It is my goal as owner of CF to assure your mare gets pregnant and remains ‘safe’ the first cycle while in my care. However animals are unpredictable as is mother nature. Horse insurance is recommended but not required.
12. A separate boarding agreement will be given and signed before mare is to be left at the farm.
13. A maximum of 5 heat cycles per horse with 2 veterinary evaluations and 1 culture. If your horse is not getting pregnant there is something wrong and a vet must be involved and consulted. Reasonable decisions must be discussed and made when breeding older, hard to breed mares, I cannot spend the summer breeding the same horse over and over.
14. It is my job as owner of CF to get every mare pregnant, however mother nature and breeding is never a sure thing.
15. To assure my stallion doesn’t get kicked repeatedly, I require the owner to hobble the mare and to hold their horse during breeding. If you need assistance, arrangements can be made but must be discussed before, I will not be responsible for the liability of your horse getting hurt while being hobbled or bred, so to properly protect both horses, this is necessary.
16. This contract is for 1 horse for the year mentioned and is not transferable.
